Me.  Or at least a body.  I don't recall which addon it is, but when you flip a switch, raise the gear, or whatever, an animated arm moves into view and flips the switch, raised the gear lever, and so on. (It may only work for gear and flaps though)

Definitely needs an FMC but that's normally a very complex thing to add in a freeware context you're not going to get something on PMDG standards etc.

Apart from that it would be nice if every switch was switchable even if it just turns a indicator light on and off and has no effect on the aircraft.

I've not been in the 737 for a good while mainly been doing long hauls, I'll take it up soon and see if I can think of anything!

I'm sure it will be brilliant when your done.

I'm glad you asked Alrot.  As a frequent flier of the default 737-800 I find two things especially annoying.  The switch in VC for the autobrake is non-functional.  In addition I find the redundancy of the EICAS to be a pain.  I would love to see the GPS screen in the top-center display and the lower-center display to show the EICAS.

Fsx has a default FMC Huh. I think that is the freeware honeywell FMC. Am i right Alex?
But I have a natural aversion to flying long (boring) hauls with planes that do not have enough "bells and whistles" e.g The Libardo Guzman Concorde has a cabin to go and greet the passengers the Rollus Mirage has lots of buttons to push and lots to play with. Cool And your citation has buttons to push and passenger views to go into and experience first class service Cool

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

It's slang for "Modify"
v. mod·i·fied, mod·i·fy·ing, mod·i·fies
v.tr.
1.  To change in form or character; alter.

I think this is impossible, but can you maybe like make a gauge that like when you click the Fasten seatbelt or No smoking, When you go into the cabin (if you are making one and I totally accept if you don't want to) it shows up on a screen at the front of the cabin Cheesy.
Can you please get back to me? Wink

yes it can be done and that in particular its very easy  Cool
but I'm still not sure if to add a cabin yet , a cabin will make more extra weight to the system (more poligons)

besides I have no clue how is that cabin ,Ive seen a lot pic in airliners.net but it doesn't show the area of the main door and the division in that area ..
let see how it goes ,believe it or not this things its harder than you might think  Shocked

Great to see someone has the talent and interest to upgrade the default FSX 737 panel.  Here are my suggestions over and above those already submitted.

The HSI controls to the left of the autopilot could use improvement. When you press the buttons for airports, Vor, NDB, TCA, etc.  They should all show, not just the one selected.

The autopilot should have a backcourse (BC) button.

If not already asked for, the Smith FMC should be added to the panel.

The overhead panel could have more systems activated and intergrated to allow some startup simulation.

And lastly, can we get windshield wipers?

Am looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Just another request.  Could you also do this for the 747.  It needs this more than the 737.

Thanks a million.

You also gave me and Idea to what to add It will be the BC button thanks  Wink

I was about to post another Pic but I don't want to fill the thread with too many Jpgs

Alejandro, about the wipers: Do you think you could add some rain effect to this 737 ?
I'm thinking about a texture that would appear on the windows when it's raining.

If the wipers are OFF, then you show a semi-transparent texture that is hard to see-through.
If the wipers are ON (no matter the speed), then you show a semi-transparent texture which is clean in the area where the wipers pass.

This was done like that in the Goose by Lynn and Bill Lyons back in the FS9 days for example. Also in the Super Frelon helicopter by Dirk Fassbender for FSX.

I think this effect could be achieved with a simple gauge. What do you think ? That would be great for immersion. And since you made the wipers functionnal, it would be nice to make them usefull as well  Smiley

Le Stephane

I would have to see how that texture works in some of the old FS9 ,I see that in 2d panel shows in FSX that effect ,I'm not so sure if it can be applied in the VC

Do you know where is the avionics switch you told me ,where shoulld I put it ?

You need to tell me above all where should I put these things ,the guy above is right ,we need to make and entire cold start up simulation ,I think is completed in the md-83

the Slat panel in the Upper Console ,that's how it comes in the default gauges ,Its not working properly

I have answered you PM for the avionics, take a look at the video I linked as well Wink
Basically, it seems the avionics will turn on automatically as soon as your APU GEN is set to ON.

Concerning the rain effect, I don't know if it's possible to use the default one at all. I'm not a modeller so I don't know the techniques very well, but what I've seen in the past consisted in two solutions:

- the windows were in fact panels, on which you can display gauges. Here, instead of displaying a classic gauge with numbers and needles etc... you just display a picture showing some water drops, or anything that blocks the vision of the pilot. Then, when the wipers are turned ON, the texture gets replaced by another one, similar but with a clean part where the wipers pass.

- a 3D flat object was standing in front of the window. This object showed the same texture as above... basically it's the same technique, excepted that you display the "wet window gauge" on this object instead of showing it directly on the window...

Alejandro, the default rain effect is not possible.
But a custom rain effect is. As I said, look for example at the Super Puma from Dirk Fassbender:

...

It's not animated rain like the default FS9 one (I wish). It's a fix image but it's enough to make the usage of wipers mandatory. When the wipers are OFF, then the texture doesn't have that transparent part in the middle anymore, you almost can't see through.

I have a silly question Alrot.

Are you modifying the default fsx 737 VC or are you making a new one that looks like the default?

Also if you are modifying the default don't you need the source files?

these ain't gauges my friend  Sad these are textures applied to parts inside 3dmax or gmax,and that textures are animated by a sequence and type of rain few a lot,and snow that's a lot of work even if I could do it

that vanish when its not raining ,and THAT's something I can't figure it out
I need to create a part that shows up when it rains in the sim

Look at the Simviation this name Dirk Fassbender and download the chopper that Daube told me and see that nice effect

I'm going to request to the Mods to please move this thread to Aircraft and Design area

Well done Alrot. Wink

Just one word for that Alrot. WOW! Shocked

When did you start?

I have a suggestion for you for the vc. Even if a switch doesn't do anything it would be cool if it was animated.

Also does the rain texture hurt the frame rate?

I have answered your PM Alejandro.
Here are two shots to show that the effect works correctly. First I flew below the clouds, it was rainning and the rain texture was showing properly:
...

Then I climbed above the clouds, the rain stopped, and the windows got clean Smiley
...

Last remark, about the interior lights:
- during night, it works normally.
- during dusk (and perhaps day, I didn't test), the light doesn't work, but some instruments are showing the night texture nevertheless. For example, the FMC, and some instruments in the center of the panel.

I know about the switches Alejandro.
The fact is that in my last picture, it's not night yet, not for the simulator at least. As a consequence, when I click on the "instrument lights" (the one of the left), the FMC and the round gauges in the middle of the panel show night texures, but the rest of the cockpit still shows day textures. Also, the "light" itself doesn't work in that case.

But if I wait for the evening, then everything works fine. Instrument light illuminates, panel shows night textures, and instruments show night textures.

The problem really only occurs shortly before the evening, when it's starting to get dark but it's not the evening yet.

I just found out that the real 737-800 has a panel that does noot look anything like the one FSX default 737-800 is

the top panel where is the Autopilot controls specifically.. Sad

...

this wasn't in my plans but I think I will have to make things a little bit more realistic
why did they put those large switches ?
did the 737-800 wasn't in 2006?

you have no idea how good it would be if You'd found a real life similar panel..it'd REALLY help me  ,I would have to modified the gauge, and that gauge xml is the type coded in a strange different language that is hard for me to figure it out ,so I would have to write a new entire gauge Smiley gauge and I really don't want to do that  ,I can't see the links jetpro ,One said Forbither and the other said was removed  Huh

The New Upgraded FSX 737-800 its finish ,I will be "Upgraded FSX 737-800"

  I don't know what else to add  Undecided

I'm now trying to use and auto Installation compiler (ClickTeam Pro) ,looking a way to this software back up the original files in a single extra folder ,I need to back up the originals B737_800_interior.MDL, panel, texture folder ,aircraft.cfg etc

why auto Install ? because I know how people are ,if they had trouble placing a folder (FSND-MD-83, or Citation x  )in a stupid folder SimObjects\Airplanes\
I can't imagine how would be to place things in main sound folder ,main gauge folder and backing up the files ,

the original files has to be saved

any ideas would be appreciated

Alex

I'm lacking a little bit of free time on my side to test your B737 cockpit further.
If the roads here don't get blocked by the snow tonight, I'll try to get home soon enough to finish the tests. I'm mainly concerned about the electric systems, as I told you already.
It's nothing much though, I just want to verify a thing or two and provide my final feedback.

Hey Alex

I don't think you can provide an installer that will do all this

I think you have to TELL people to backup the original 737 interior model (or provide it inside the file) and also TELL people any other files to backup.

Then I think you may be able to provide the installer but I suspect it is complicated to install into many directories --BUT ...  it may be better to simply provide install instructions for manual install. It is not that complicated. (self install is great when it works but can this be done?)

I don't think anyone will really want the originals after your upgrade. You are only adding things - not taking anything away .. Smiley ... but nio big deal if they do -- we can always provide backups here if they want them  ...

I'm still working on the auto install Pete  Undecided you know how people are some times that thing damage my original files Bla Bla Bla I'm just looking a way to reverse the whole thing and put the whole thing back the way it was
on the other hand If they install manually ,If they ask me via Email (Funny I made a Support forum for that and its the less place people use not even here in this forum) they just ask me via email ,that the airplane doesn't show? ,that how do they install it? ,that what to do with the zip file? what is a zip? ,a lot of people these day doesn't know to place a single folder in Airplanes folder ..

Imagine the main sound folder files  and main gauge folder for the GPWS ,and what if they don't know how to back up all the files?  Shocked there also some textures that will have to be modified

  I'm still studying the Clickteam software if it doesn't do what I want ,Ill have no choice will be manually  Cry

Alex. I haven't tried the current version of the Clickteam Install Creator but I have used it in the past. Unless they've drastically changed it the software works by overwriting existing files, in exactly the same way as extracting a zipfile to a specific location. The only difference is that it has an optional Uninstall feature. This could obviously cause problems if it removed default files. I don't think it will do what you want.

It depends on the size of the originals I guess, but maybe you could have a "restore default" exe that reinstalls the default 737 cockpit files?

Alejandro, what are the final fixes that you could include in the cockpit ?
I know the version you gave me is not recent enough anymore, however it had quite a lot of problems in the gauges:
- the number of Ampere falls down to zero when you deactivate the APU, even if engines are running and engine generators are ON.
- the "runway turnoff" switch acts as cabin switch and it also activates the logo light
- the logo light switch has no effect
- the taxi lights switch has no effect
- the wing lights have no effect
- the gauge displaying the slats+flaps position doesn't work, excepted the for the "test" button.

That's all I could spot while seating at the gate.

Ok Stephane Logo and taxi are issues in the exterior model (all the defaul aircraft does not have the attachpoint taxi = FX_landing_light, and so the wing light and Logo ,remember Its only the VC those light are outside and should have parts also add it as visible FX attachpoint

the gauges are also in the same pack of Unfinished FSX things ,all those problem comes from th original gauge B737-800.cab, its a strange and complex xml codes ,
If it would be written in the normal and conventional model ,I would fix then and add parts but that's the whole I can do ,

for example the slap panel has and entire bitmaps,like 20 bitmaps, to do ONe thing test on and off  Cry
200 lines and all they express its this

(L:LE Devices Test,bool) <--this mean test on and off

I can add extra working gauges from other FSX aircraft or one of those many freeware aircraft (Mines md83,citation included) but to be honest that's in this case the far I can do ..

I been very busy these day ,Tomorrow Ill resume the last stage of this project and I have to work in those night light panel texture to darker a little bit more

Alex

edit : I will try to fix at least the slap panel ,I thin I know how Cool

Hi Alejandro,

I received you PM. Tomorrow I'll have time to do the tests you asked, so I'll provide you some feedback.

Concerning the lights, I understand that it's just like landing lights: they are attached to the 3D model instead of being defined in the aircraft.cfg. However, I wonder if some simple taxi lights could be added simply by editing the aircraft.cfg.

Concerning the problem with the gauges language, I know what you're talking about. I've been trying to mess into some gauges in the past, for example to fix the engine starters of some FS9 plane that do not start properly in FSX... and that was just impossible. I hate this 'post-fix' programming language  Undecided

Cheers,
Stephane.

I fixed sort of the slat panel  Wink

but lines like this
<ExpressionResult>1.000</ExpressionResult> you do have </Expression>twice expressions  or like <Case id="Case"></Case>  Undecided what case?

I mean don't get me wrong ,I sure its better than the ordinary language ,but its so strange and different  Tongue

It can't be add it from the aircraft.cfg I mean the taxi light probably the wing, Nav and Logo could be add it from aircraft.cfg but you forgot about the WING FLEX ANIMATION  Wink if you place those light they  will be outside of the wing when the airplane its in the air ,That's why I made a special part to my airplanes ,a visible specific all of them attached as visible FX that moves with the wing

FSX has all the tools to be perfect ,but I think they were rushing when they release those airplanes

Indeed Alejandro, the wingflex will prevent you from adding those "wing lights"... Anyways, I'm not even sure what those "wing lights" are.... I noticed that the "navigation lights" will trigger both the gree+green lights, and some white lights on the back of the wingtip... perhaps those are the wing lights, and by mistake they react to the navigation lights button ? Ah well, it's fine as it is.

I could make my tests this morning.
Here are the conclusions:
1- The slats panel
It works now, but there are still some mistakes. The test button for example, doesn't work at all anymore. Also, the central yellow lights are ON when you are on the second crank of flaps, but they switch OFF when you deploy the flaps more. This should be the contrary, they should be OFF when the flaps are only 5 to 15 degrees, and they should turn ON when the flaps are more than 20 degrees.

2- The GPSW
It works very well, but as you said the default FSX GPSW must be turned OFF first, because you can hear both of them when you are flying. The default GPWS can be turned OFF from the aircraft.cfg, there's a line for this if I remember correctly. Also, I confirm that my sim crashes as soon as I try to reload the aircraft, just like you said.

3- The electric system
In my default flight, the avionics are switched OFF. As a consequence, if I start your 737 manually, even after swithing ON everything, I still have no radios at all. I am forced to press CTRL+E to get my avionics. I believe the 737 in real life has no avionics switch, so I'll have to make a new default flight, but perhaps you'll have to write a short warning about this in your readme file that you will include in the package.
Also, what does the "panel switch" do ? The swith between the "Engine HYD" switches ?  Huh

4- The lights
There is, on the top panel, the "runway turnoff" swithes. I am not sure about what they are supposed to do, and I wonder if they could be reduntant or in conflict with your cabin and instruments lights switches. This should be clarified if possible.

Some screenshots of the test flight around Bowerman. 30% fuel, no passenger, no lugage.  Cool

Cheers,
Stephane.

just wondering but,can a 737-800 land at bowerman IRL?
if no,maybe you could decrease braking,that is a problem with most aircraft.

I landed without using any brakes.
Keep in mind my 737 was almost empty. 30 to 20% fuel, no passengers, and no payload at all. Approach speed ketp around 140 knots, I had enough runway to make a soft landing and then I activated the retro thrust and the plane stopped gently before the end of the runway. I used the brakes for that last 5 seconds, something like that, I didn't really need them.

Bowerman runway is not *that* short.

I'm afraid that's how going to be OR leav just the test button one of the two

this crashing worries me a little bit ,and I don't even know how to disagage the FSX voice...BTW stephane Do you hear it a little bit TOO LOUD! i was thinking to lower the volume in each file

3- The electric system

what if we place and avionics switch?

Oh yeah,Now I remember ,That one I was trying to make Hydraulic electrical Switch and it has a conflict ,Ill fix that.. Undecided

No its doesn't,they're just Nav, wing, Logo lights It has been specified with the variable ,I just put them there ,I can't make show them because they should be in the exterior mdl,EXAMPLE ;If you put that cabin in my MD-83 you will see that all works  Cool

Cheers,
Stephane.

The GPWS voice volume was a bit higher than the default one, but it was OK. I think...
Yes, the engine sounds are much lower than this GPWS, but the fuel pumps are also quite high volume, so... You can lower the volume of the wav files a little bit I think, it won't hurt.

I thought there was a line in the aircraft.cfg to disable the GPWS, but I was wrong.
Also, I suppose your custom GPWS gauge needs the [GPWS] section in the aircraft.cfg, right ?

For the avionic switch, the problem is that the real 737 doesn't have it.
I think a good solution could be to modify, if you are able to do it, the various generator switches, so that they do not only turn ON the generators, but also turn ON the avionics. In this way, the avionics would be OFF with only the battery, but they would get ON with the APU gen, while the engines are still OFF. Then, during the flight, when the APU GEN is OFF but the engines GENs are ON, the avionics would still be available. What do you think ?

No St.its only in panel.cfg

actually there are only four ,One for each engine four for 747s and airplanes like that

a binary function in one switch ,Let me see if I can do that  Undecided ,
Just to make sure you want one of the generator switch to Work?
there is one that is not doing anything we could make it avionic ,remember ,FSX sdk is not thinking that the Boeing 737 does not have avionics switch

No it would not be a good idea to use this switch. It would be confusing for the user, because of the "ground power" label.

I understand a little bit better your situation. In fact, until now I was thinking that all those switches were assigned to XML gauges that you could edit. But I just had a look into the panel.cfg and I saw that these switches ARE NOT assigned to gauges. I suppose they are assigned to some function directly into the 3D model definition, right ? That's why you cannot assign two functions to them (GEN and AVIONICS). Now I understand.

Then, there is another solution. What about an invisible gauge (only declared in the panel.cfg) that constantly checks the various GENs of the aircraft, and sets the AVIONICS to ON as soon as one of the GENs are ON ? The coding (in human language) would be like this:
Code:
if (APU = ON and APU GEN = ON) or
  (ENG1 = Running and ENG1 GEN = ON) or
  (ENG2 = Running and ENG2 GEN = ON).
  set AVIONICS = ON.
endif.

What do you think ?

Ok, here it goes.
I used an example from a random XML gauge in FSX. It turns ON some light effect (engine flames) when the throttle is above 65%:
Code:
(A:GENERAL ENG1 THROTTLE LEVER POSITION,percent) 65 > (A:LIGHT LOGO,number) 1 < && if{ (>K:TOGGLE_LOGO_LIGHTS) }

Then, to make it more readable, I put it on several lines, to show the structure.

Code:
(A:GENERAL ENG1 THROTTLE LEVER POSITION,percent) 65 >
(A:LIGHT LOGO,number) 1 <
&&
if
{ (>K:TOGGLE_LOGO_LIGHTS) }

That showed me how to make a IF, and how to make a AND.
Since && means "AND", then I suppose the standard || means "OR".
So I wrote this:

Code:
(APU = ON)(APU GEN = ON)&&
(ENG1 = Running)(GEN1 = ON)&&
||
(ENG2 = Running)(GEN2 = ON) &&
||
if
{set AVIONICS = ON}

Which, on a single line, gives this:

Code:
(APU = ON) (APU GEN = ON) && (ENG1 = Running) (GEN1 = ON) && || (ENG2 = Running) (GEN2 = ON) && || if{set AVIONICS = ON}

That's as far as I can go, because I don't know how to get the status of the GEN. Surely, it's something like "(A:GENERAL GEN1.... , number)", and setting the avionics ON would be "(>K:TOGGLE_AVIONICS)"... I suppose....but I think you know much more than me about these FSX functions Smiley

I went further with my studying of the gauge coding.
I made a try, by looking at the various variables, how to read this or that etc...
So in the end, I tried creating a gauge... but unfortunately, it didn't work.
I made several modifications but there is something wrong in my conditions. Sometimes the avionics are always ON, sometimes always OFF... it doesn't take the engine+gen status correctly into account.

I'm sure it's a stupid mistake hidden somewhere, but it's 01:08 AM here, and my brain cannot work anymore.... Here is the XML code I created. I hope you can use it as a valid base and make it work after some corrections.

Code:
<Gauge Name="Automatic avionics">
<Element>
<Select>
<Value>
(A:APU PCT RPM,percent) 10 &gt;
(A:APU GENERATOR SWITCH,bool) &amp;&amp;
(A:ENG1 N2 RPM,rpm) 10 &gt;
(A:General eng1 generator switch,bool) &amp;&amp; ||
(A:ENG2 N2 RPM,rpm) 10 &gt;
(A:General eng2 generator switch,bool) &amp;&amp; || if{ 1 (>L:Avionics master switch,bool)}</Value>
</Select>
</Element>
</Gauge>

even I having trouble to understand that

Code:
<Gauge Name="Automatic avionics">
  <Element>
    <Position X="0" Y="0"/>
       <Image Name="Automatic_avionics_Background.bmp" Bright="Yes"/>
   <Select>
     <Value>
         (A:APU PCT RPM,percent) 10 &gt;
           (A:APU GENERATOR SWITCH,bool) &amp;&amp;
              (A:ENG1 N2 RPM,rpm) 10 &gt;
                (A:General eng1 generator switch,bool) &amp;&amp; ||
               (A:ENG2 N2 RPM,rpm) 10 &gt;
             (A:General eng2 generator switch,bool) &amp;&amp; || if{ 1 (>L:Avionics master switch,bool)}</Value>
          </Select>
      </Element>
   </Gauge>

not sure about the >L: in avionics  Undecided not sure in in nothing Tongue

I added a small bmp to make it vissible and still doesn't work, I believe this would have to be a switch like engine generator0 with the conditional avionics master switch

I never been that good in gauges , I have made simply things like the eicas of the citation x  and many of the md83
most of them are text dysplays and hiding screens using and opaque backgrounds using axis and rotating modes
...

---------------------------------------------

we need to simplify this ,both engines generator (0 and 1) to command one single thing avionics switch.

  I'm trying to modify the modeldef part

    <PartInfo>
        <Name>switch_generator0</Name>
        <Copy>switch_generator</Copy>
        <AnimLength>50</AnimLength>
        <Animation>
            <Parameter>
                <Sim>
                    <Variable>GENERAL ENG GENERATOR SWITCH:1</Variable>
                </Sim>
            </Parameter>
        </Animation>
        <MouseRect>
            <TooltipID>TOOLTIPTEXT_ENG1_GENERATOR_SWITCH</TooltipID>
            <EventID>TOGGLE_ALTERNATOR1</EventID>
        </MouseRect>
    </PartInfo>

so when you click the generator0 it will also move the avionics On and Off for both... Is that will be Ok?

Hi Alejandro,

Sorry for the delay in answering, yesterday I've been driving to Germany where I'll spend the whole week, which means I won't be able to test anything during this week (away from my gaming computer  Undecided ).

A gauge doesn't need to be visible to be active. Instead of assigning the "avionics" function to the GEN buttons, I've was trying to make a silent gauge that just checks in the background the status of the various systems and decides if the avionics should be ON or OFF. I'm using the same technique than the "RealEngine" gauges, if you see what I'm talking about. These gauges are invisible, but they constantly check what you are doing to decide if some failures should be triggered. They are all in XML and they are a great source of information for learning how to get the the various statuses of the plane systems.

In my case, I was trying to write in this gauge that the avionics should be activated if one of the engines was running and its GEN was ON. In this way, if the user would just activate the APU and the APU GEN, then he would see the avionics getting activated automatically. Not only with the APU, but also with the engine 1 or the engine 2.

But I failed to implement the check condition correctly. I think I'll create a topic about this on one of the french forums to ask for advises. Then I'll come back to you. If I succeed to do that, then you will not need to modify any button in the cockpit at all.

I'll keep you updated about this.
Cheers,
Stephane.

(I got some help in another forum)

I'll be sending it to you soon

Cheesy what a cool, you can trip to Germany ,go to UK ,living the life ,while I'm stuck in this God D prison of third world country, Don't you need there in Le France a house keeper cleaning ,a butter, a slave???? hey I can wash dogs and clean their crap ,and I also made aircraft for certain PC game   Embarrassed <---outta topic Tongue
back to subject

Code:

          (>K:TOGGLE_ALTERNATOR1)
          (>K:TOGGLE_AVIONICS_MASTER)

thanks Bill Leaming!

with this we can have the two things working in one of the generators which I pic the 0 which is the right side engine

Hmm... but then, don't you lose the avionics if that particular engine is switched off ?
Also, that means that the user will have to switch that engine GEN, even if he is just sitting at the gate with only the APU running.

I have created a topic concerning my gauge on another forum.
I'll wait for the answers and report here. I believe that you don't need to modify these buttons, but I could be wrong. Anyways, this issue got me curious, and now I just want to know how this is supposed to work Smiley

Instead of Generator0 it can be in APU switch  or APUstart switch or any other switch YOU want ,it will works along with the avionics switch too once I made the script for them too,It better only one like the APU switch  ,

tell me which one will I turn into a switch with a double function  Cool

As you wish Alejandro.
I still investigating about the gauge itself though, because such a gauge would be very convenient and easy to transfer to other planes like your Citation and MD-83 for example, with a simple additionnal line in the panel.cfg.

And as I said, I'm know really curious to understand how theses gauge work. I NEED to know  Cheesy Grin

Success !!! Finally !!  Shocked Cheesy
The problem, I believe, was that my XML gauge was placed directly in the panel folder of the plane. It seems FSX doesn't like that, and that XML files sould be either in a CAB file or in a subfolder.

So after several modification of the gauge coding, I created a folder "new" in my panel folder, and placed the gauge inside. Then I edited the panel.cfg to change the name of the gauge to "gauge34=new!auto_avionics, 1,1,1,1".

AND IT WORKED !!
Now the avionics turn ON as soon as one of the generators turns ON, but only if the corresponding engine is ON as well Smiley So if the plane is cold and dark, and you just switch one of the generators ON, then the avionics stays OFF. But if you switch the APU ON, and the APU GEN ON, then after a second or two (for the APU to be really running) the avionics turn ON as well !!  Smiley

Here is the latest version of the coding:
Code:
<Gauge Name="Automatic avionics">
<Element>
<Select>
<Value>(A:GENERAL ENG GENERATOR ACTIVE:1,bool) (A:GENERAL ENG GENERATOR ACTIVE:2,bool) || (A:APU GENERATOR ACTIVE,bool) || if{ 1 (>K:AVIONICS_MASTER_SET) } els{ 0 (>K:AVIONICS_MASTER_SET) }</Value>
</Select>
</Element>
</Gauge>

I'm going to add this gauge to the CitationX and the MD-83 as well.
Alejandro, if you have not modified your switches yet, then you should include this gauge in the final package. It's really cool to be able to call the ATC without having to press CTRL+E Cheesy

Hi Alejandro,

Sorry for the late answer, but I'm still in the office, so I can't test yet.
Hopefully I should return home in more or less two hours. Then I'll give a try to your newest archive.
I'm also still working on your readme, by the way. Wink

Cheers,

Hi again Alejandro.

Two good news for me Smiley

1- I have sent you a PM with the new readme file. Please check if it's ok like that.

2- I could test the latest version of the cockpit, and I confirm everything works perfectly Smiley

Additionnaly, I have to tell you that the new cockpit textures/lighting is really fantastic, compared to what it was before ! I absolutely love it !  Cheesy Here are some screenshots to show how the cockpit will look like at night with the new lights:
1- no lights at all
...

2- only instrument lights
...

3- only cabin light
...

4- cabin + instrument lights
...

Excellent work !
Oh, I tested the avionics again and it works correctly Wink
