Hi all, I have been given FSX acceleration as a gift but I have a few questions before I install.

I have a Windows 7 PC and have down loaded SP1 and SP2, I've also got a lot of World of AI AI aircraft flying around.

My questions are, can I install Acceleration even though I already have SP1 and 2, do I need to uninstall them or will Acceleration overwrite them?
Will acceleration interfere with my WOAI AI aircraft?

Thanks in advance
Jason

Installing acceleration should not affect your WOAI traffic, and installing it over sp2 should be fine as well.

Hope this helps! Smiley

I think you need to uninstall SP2 first, then install Acceleration.

Acceleration is a improvement of SP2
as said before, It shouldn't affect your original installation.

but a smart think to do is to back up at least your simobject folder.

I have a secondary HDD on my computer where I have all of my add ons files backed up (most  are the exe files for installation) and all the free add ons I found on the web.

Indeed. Acceleration will refuse to install until SP2 gets uninstalled.
Installation will not disturb your planes or other addons.
However, installing Acceleration will have the same effect as triggering a "Repair", which means that all the default files that you have modified/replaced (water, or lights, for example) will get back to original version.
Also, if you have any OrbX scenery, it might be a good idea to set the FTX Central back to "FSX Default" before uninstalling / installing anything Wink

Just incase your system behaves like mine....
When I installed Acceleration, I was getting serious image tearing.  I didn't get it before Acceleration.  So I'm not sure if it's SP1 and 2 that caused it or Acceleration.  I have FSX Gold, and before installing Acceleration, there was no image tearing.

Anyways, if you do get image tearing, open your fsx.cfg and add "ForceFullScreenVSync=1" (without the ") under the [GRAPHICS] section.
