My (fantasy) picks: A P-51, Allison powered, for jaunts to the grocery store.

Why would you want to spoil a truly classic aircraft, one of the finest ever built and put an Allison engine in it. When you have the best, install the best, a Merlin Cool The Allison ran out of legs at altitude due to only having a single stage supercharger

I would love to have a P-51D, but I would like a C-150 or a C-152 for regular flying.  Cool

I would have to go with a classic on this one. An Aeronca 7AC Champion. Why a Champ and not a Cub or a Husky or any number of similar airplanes? I have no idea, I just love the Champ. Wink

The XB-70. Nothing like crusing at 70,000ft at mach 3 in such a huge plane.

C-17 for short feilds
SU-34 for those long flights where you will need a washroom and a kitchen while still able to travel mach 2 (making grilled cheese sandwiches while co-pilot is doing barrel rolls FTW)
and a a-1 skyraider for a radial

Carriers would be so mush easier to land on if they would just stop turning!!!

My sights are high but a modernized version of the De Havilland Comet 4 with turbofans instead of turbojets and a modern flight deck.

I guess I have a thing for the Allison 501-D13. I would chose either a Lockheed Electra L188 or a Convair CV-580. I also wouldn't mind having a F4-U Corsair. Grin

The modernized Nimrods do have stretched wings and turbofans. Now that Ukogbani Air Force no longer wants their brand new frames, would you like to install VIP interiors in them?
