I noticed a problem with my right strobe light on the default CRJ-700.  When I was doing a flight on it this evening, I noticed that the right strobe light was blinking outside the right-side cockpit window of my plane, as opposed to on the right wingtip, where it should have been. Shocked

I have the same problem. I think it's new because I haven't noticed it before . . . any ideas?

First thing to check is the [Lights] section of the aircraft.cfg file to see if the position has been changed. Here is the default.

[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3,  -64.70, -37.00,  -0.50, fx_navredm ,
light.1 = 3,  -64.70,  37.00,  -0.50, fx_navgrem ,
light.2 = 3,  -104.63,   0.00,  14.30, fx_navwhi ,
light.3 = 1,  -29.00,   0.00, -2.30, fx_beaconb ,
light.4 = 2,  -104.63,   0.00,  15.00, fx_strobe ,
light.5 = 1,  -32.50,   0.00,  7.00, fx_beaconh ,
light.6 = 4,  -10.00,   0.00,  3.90, fx_vclighth,
light.7 = 2,  -64.50, -36.50,  -0.50, fx_strobe ,
light.8 = 2,  -64.50,  36.50,  -0.50, fx_strobe ,

light.8 is the starboard wing tip strobe.

All lights are at the correct place on my CRJ. They are placed like the [Lights] section called out above. All lights are paired correctly. Bob.

Hi Bob,

That fixed it for me. I had downloaded the 'CRJ night lights' add-on from this site and I had changed the Lights.8 config. I changed it back to the default, as shown by you, left everything else, and the strobe is now correct plus the Night Lights features are all working correctly too, so a great outcome.

Thanks Bob!

BTW, I'm pretty new to Flight Simming and am amazed at the community around FSX etc and this site in particular. The free aircraft, paints, scenery etc is just mind-blowing, so thanks to all for your fantastic work. Smiley
