Hello Gent's
I wonder can you help me?  Ya know when the contact points are a little off, And you switch views and your plane jumps (Just a bit) and you get that smoke FX.  Well the smoke isn't smoke..It's a bunch of transparent squares. Undecided  The aircraft becomes invisible in areas, till the smoke clears out. Cry---Bummer

I'll assume your seeing the touchdown effect. Do you see the same when landing?

Sounds like a missing texture ..\Effects\texture\fx_1.bmp.   It is called by most smoke effects.

If the fiile is missing, recover it from the CD's. If it is there, check the file date (compare to the other file dates) on the chance an addon replaced it from an earlier FS version.

To recover the file see this for the file location: /yabb?num=1241545570

Thank you Dave
I'll go check it right now.  Yep! touchdown FX. I went and installed the (Nick's Touchdown_fx) to a bunch or 'most' of the planes I'm running, mabey that did it huh?
That's not to say there is anything wrong with Nick's FX (Thanks Nick "Nice FX Brother")

I don't have FS2004 installed anymore but did download Nick's Touchdown fx.

There are 4 .bmps called by the fx. Check that all 4 are in ..\Effects\texture\

fx_1.bmp
fx_5.bmp
fx_wake_3.bmp

fx_rain.bmp

The first 3 bmps are default though fx_1 and fx_5 are installed/included in Nick's fx download.

Best I can tell, fx_rain is not default but is installed/included in Nick's fx download.
