I tried to log in the other day and found my info had been deleted several years ago  Grin.  Heck its only been about 4 years since I quit using the Sim.
My machine is a dual boot XP Pro64/FS9 and Win7 64/FSX Delux.  Q6600/GTX460/8G DDR2/4 80GHD.
Understand the Gold version is 64 bit and plan to replace the delux with it.  Besides adding more a/c and missions (which I will not use) are there any Operating upgrades in the Gold version besides being 64bit?  Will the Gold take advantage of all of my memory?
Nice seeing some old Faces.

Hi Richard. Not sure who you are but welcome back.

I stand to be corrected but I've always understood that FSX Gold is simply a package containing both FSX DeLuxe + Acceleration. These are installed individually in the same way as if you purchased them separately. FSX first, then Acceleration.

The gold version is not a 64bit!
As Hager says, it is deluxe containing an addon acceleration pack.
Not sure about your memory, but i think it'll take a little bit more.

Thanks for your kind replies, I must have misread a thread here that mentioned Gold being 64bit.  Oh well, I have already paid for the Gold version so I will go ahead and use it when it arrives.

I only "fly" recips, mostly IFR in the L049/1049 and the Doug birds.
Looking forward to getting back into it.

I suspect the confusion arises from the Microsoft official website. Both FSX Gold & Acceleration are listed as fully 64-bit compatible on the Windows 7 Compatibility Centre. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Browse.aspx?type=...

FSX Deluxe & Standard are not listed. I suspect that installing Acceleration makes them 64-bit compatible.
Correction. FSX is listed. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Browse.aspx?type=...

No harm done. I expect FSX Gold is as cheap or cheaper than purchasing Acceleration separately.

Heh, I would not have purchased the Acceleration pack by itself  as I do not see a want or need for what is included.
Only purchased believing it was 64bit and therefor using more than 4g RAM.
No harm done, only money. Roll Eyes

Now have to decide between the Dell U2412 or the Korean 27q Monitors. Tongue
