Hi Guys and Gals.

I'm trying to save a default flight but when I restart FSX it keeps telling that the flight simulator can not find the aircraft and will load the default flight.
As soon as I get to the main screen I can load the flight which I have saved as my new default without any problem so the aircraft is available and appears in the aircraft menu with all it's variations. I have previously been able to save the flight as default including the offending aircraft.
I have made some changes to the FSX.cfg in an effort to cure scenery popping but can't understand why I have this problem.
Any thoughts?

Zaphod.

Just doublecheck FSX.cfg and make sure that the SITUATION= line is pointing to the flight you think it is.

That line got changed in mine for some reason and it had me pulling my hair out for a day or two wondering what was going on.

Thanks for the quick reply Rich.
I take it this "SITUATION=FLIGHTS\OTHER\FLTSIM" isn't correct?

Zaphod

Edit;
After trying again to save the offending default flight I now have this; SITUATION=c:\users\jeffery\documents\flight simulator x files\CL215 Parked Yellow knife engines off..FLT.

Edit ,edit.
Seems to be working now!

Thanks Rich Wink

Glad you sorted it, but still I'm very curious about the reason of the original problem you had in the beginning...
Anyways, at least it works now.

Thanks Daube.
I wish I knew what happened too. I tried everything. But at least it's OK now.

That's the FSX default flight. When FSX hiccupped and couldn't load the aircraft for your own default flight, it reverted to its own default. Then, when you closed out of FSX, it wrote it to FSX.cfg. That's why it was there instead of the one you wanted. Now it's pointing to the default you want. Glad you got it sorted out.

I still can't work out what the original problem was as I was able to save other default flights, just not with the "Problem" aircraft.
Anyway all working OK now.

Thanks again.

Zaphod.

No problem.

Sometimes FSX can be like that, epecially if you haven't rebooted your computer in awhile. It'll run along smoothly and, suddenly, stumble and a piece will fall off. Smiley
