There's a nice XWing for FS9, with a virtual cockpit ! It should be quite smooth.

Also, I recommend you the Y-Wing and the SnowSpeeder made by Tim Conrad, there have excellent models, very cool virtual cockpits, and there are really easy on the FPS. Tim Conrad also created the Naboo N-1, and the fighter plane of ObiWan, both with magnificient models and virtual cockpits !! There are must-haves for he Sci-Fi enthusiasts Cool
