Wow! Things have changed a lot since I last posted here. The forum has changed, the website has changed, except for one thing. The people here.
I still remember a few of you guys. Fozzer, Arlot, Ozzy, Hagar, just to name a few. Oh, and our beloved admin Pete is here. Nice to see you all around here.
I guess this is the part where I have to explain my absence. I'll try to be as short as possible.
I have been through a lot of changes that involved everything from changing jobs to changing careers and from letting my hair grow to even changing my religion. I have seen and experienced a lot in the seven years since I left the USAF. Currently, I work at Mectron USA which is a US-based procurement branch of our manufacturing headquarters in Brazil. They make missiles and guidance systems for the Brazilian government. It's a great job and it has helped me stay on my feet.
In fact, because of my job, I started studying this January at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Miami Campus) towards the AS-Professional Aeronautics degree at the moment. I'm aiming for the Bachelors Degree which will take four years. For once in my life, I'm studying to be a career pilot. As it turned out, studying medicine didn't work out for me.
Anyways, besides real life, I haven't been using FS in a long time as I got pretty occupied playing Eve Online. After a long time, I recently decided to check back on Simviation and see what's new for the FS series since I have a renewed interest in flight simulation because of my studies. Oh my god, I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the news about what MS did recently to the FS series. But I'll save my rant for another time. As for FSGV, my old website, that has become nothing more than a memory to me. I got tired of being frustrated over trying to figure out issues with export modeling, animations not coming out right, FSX SDK not very clear on the instructions, *.cfg files coming out all wrong, etc. I didn't want to deal with that anymore. I think that's how I got my first strand of white hair (3 strands as of now). But still, my love for FS is still strong.
To conclude this post, I just like to say, it feels great to be back. Now I have to catch up with what else I missed.

Welcome back whoever you are.
I remember reading some of your posts when I was trawling through the General Discussion board.
I'm a relative newbie here.
BTW Alex's username is Alrot not Arlot.

And after all this time, I still keep messing up that name. I'm gonna have to start stapling a note onto my forehead to remind myself.

Welcome back. I remember you well, partly because I recall you were from Miami or so, as I am, I live near the U of Miami.
Some interesting time off you've had, so we see.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, that's great, good luck.
In the 40's, the Miami campus of ERAU was located in a really cool building called the Coral Gables Coliseum on Douglas Road a bit north of Sears in downtown Coral Gables. After the WW2 it was acquired, or maybe re-acquired, by the U of Miami and used as a Performing Arts Center, then sometime after that, converted to a bowling alley. In the late 60's it had a teen dance spot called 'The Scene' in the basement. The building was constructed in 1927 and torn down in 1993.
So again, lots o' luck with your career. Keep us posted as to what's happened at ERAU. We're rootin' for ya.

And Fozzer & Hagar aren't even out of bed yet.
They'll definitely give you a warm welcome. (Fozzer might even cook you a meal.

The weather is slowly getting warmer, and the mornings are getting lighter, so I am getting out of bed earlier now!
Kat was also one our our Multiplayer enthusiasts, in Dial-up days, long, long ago!...

Perhaps we may meet him again, up in the Multiplayer blue, with FS Host?...

Whoa Kat, there's a name I've not seen lurking for a while! In fact I think you missed the birth of my son David and my return to the UK.
I'm still bonkers mind...
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
