Good evening all...
Like to have a few other opinions from you folks who know more about these electronic gizmoes than I do.
As many know I lost my sound several weeks ago along with Windows 7.
A clean install of Windows 7 was done but I lost FSX.
The new sound card will be here sometime Monday I hope, it is the top of the line he said.
He thinks I should install FSX before the card gets here and we can check it out.
I am holding off installing FSX as it will take several days to get everything back up and going the way it was.
My thinking whether correct or not is FSX will not install correctly if there is no sound. That is just my thinking, not sure if it is right or wrong.
Would like a few other opinions...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Doug...
..are you sure that you haven't already got a sound chip fitted in your Motherboard, with audio connections at the rear of the computer?
Most Motherboards are fitted with integrated Sound Chips as standard.
If that's the case, you really wont need a plug-in Sound Card!
You access and enable the on-board Sound Chip via the Computer BIOS Menu.

Hi Paul...
All I get right now is static from my speakers or headphones if plugged in.
Have downloaded and updated drivers...still static.
He could not figure it out any more than I can so he is going to bring a top of the line external sound card and disable the other one I guess.
Sound worked perfect until I lost Windows 7...

Doug, FSX should install properly with no sound, & if it doesn't after you put the new sound card in you could run a repair installation of FSX.
