I would go as far as saying mandatory. It includes a lit of stuff some addons need to function.

Mandatory might be a bit exagerated.
Basically, if you don't like the following stuff:
- military jets
- landing/takeoff from moving aircraft carriers
- sling operations with helicopters
- piston engines that can be damaged
- Reno-style aircraft racing
... then you probably don't need Acceleration and SP2 will be enough.
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

I agree with you Daube, Acceleration isn't mandatory. SP2 is because if you don't have that FSX Native planes don't work.

From what I read it seems like the person want reasons why Acceleration is better not just an ‘its mandatory cause its way better’ sort of thing.
And Dave add-ons for Acceleration Still work in SP2 it’s just some of the functions don't work.

Thanks for the feedback. Just wodered if it improved performance, graphics, realism, etc. Not intersted in military, mostly civil, private aircraft, missions, challenges.
