Just tried this one too.
28Black_F-16_Viper-1.zip
Some old 98 gauges hidden in the xml file!
Not good.

Post a screenshot of the panel folder.

There is not one non FSX compatible gauge included that I can see. The panel.conf file does contain some old entries but you just click OK and they will be ignored. Once that's done you don't get asked again.

The screenshot is what you get ....

I'm now puzzling around dx10 and 11 in fsx.

There is a huge different between those two when opening vc, and a very black screenshot picture using dx11. (I use Gadwin)

Dx11 gives a decent vc but no "hud lookout".
Note. The "old gauges" turns up every time.

I'll be back with some pics, if i can get it to work in dx11.

There isn't a Dx11 option in FSX. There is a Dx10 option but only FSX native planes will work with that so the F16 won't.

Indeed !
When you enable the "DirectX10 Preview" option, then FSX starts using DirectX10. Else it uses DirectX9.

Andy, for information some extremely rare FS9 planes will display correctly in DirectX10 mode. For example, the last two planes made by Manuelle Villa (the CR42 an the C-202).

Thanks for informing me Daube, I've never used Dx10 because FSX runs well on my system without it on & I've got quite a few FS9 aircraft.

This might be interesting.
I've got the dxtbmp program, but no major improvements.

BUT, after deleting the glass_t.bmp in ViperDen (28Black_F-16_Viper-1.zip), i get this vc in my very old f16-viper (shown above)!!

...

That i call progress. How on earth can that happen?
(The viperden is still green "outside")

I'm downloading the file to check it out. If I remember correctly the texture to modify is named inglass.bmp.
