I've got this set-up to run FS9:  GeForce GTX 590 Graphics/Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit/Corsair Vengeance 6GB 1600MHz CAS8 Memory Kit/Intel Core I7 960 3.20GHz Quad Core Processor (No.1 below.)

The problem I have is trees 'shimmer' & window glazing bars 'quiver & biver'. This doesn't happen in a machine with a ATI 4870 512Mb graphics card.  SO - I'd like to swap the GTX590 for a ATI card.  Can anyone advise me what to get?
Thanks.

Don't change the card yet.

Try setting MIP maps to 4.

Also some other things that might help:

this
/yabb?num=1231802901/15#15

and applying this to fs9
/yabb?num=1318610266

I already have 4.....
I've also done a lots of the other tweaks but will go through it all again.  I see textures 'popping' into view as well.  Trees & hangars appear greyish until I get close up.

I don't have the nvidia inspector & will have a go with that too.

Thanks.

I followed the inspector & changed things it flagged up. Trees now have only the odd shimmer but window glazing bars flash as before....the culptits are Ted Andrews buildings which I'm loathe to remove as they're the best Expansion buildings.

I'm afraid the GTX590 will have to go in favour of a HD 6970 2048MB Twin Frozr III GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card....

You could wait two weeks and get a 7970 (550$) or 7950 (450$).
