Which exact repaint are you referring to?

Are you making all the correct edits to the aircraft.cfg file, like changing the [fltsim.
X
] number?

What do you mean when you say "they don't show up"?

They don't show up in the plane selection screen?

"show all variations" checked?

sim= line referencing the .air file correctly?

model= line referencing an existing model folder?

panel= line referencing an existing panel folder?

texture= line matches the texture folder names exactly?

looking under the right manufacturer?

Or does the plane show up without textures?

All of the above +

Do the texture names of a new livery match those of a working livery?

cheers,
Joe

The only textures for the Iris T-6A were for the original paywear Iris release (I only found 3).  Although the T-6 is now freeware (Iris T-6A Texan II NTA SP2), the aircraft.cfg don't look like they are set up the same, with the texture.cfg addon edits calling out different panels and models.  Even after I edited the addon texture [fltsim.XX] entries to reflect the package's .cfg so it would show up in the selection page, the textures were not compatable:  The view from the VC did not show the texture, and the prop disk was black.  The prop disk was also black when viewed from behind in the external views.

In a nutshell, I don't think those particular textures work with the SP2 (If that's the one you are adding the textures to).

I found all these textures for the Iris Payware T-6A. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=IRIS+T-6A+Texan&categoryId=54

This one works fine for me so I imagine the others will. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=TEXAN_FAD_2900_FSx.zip&category...

...

It involved tweaking the Aircraft.cfg entries to match the freeware version. Not difficult if you understand the principle of adding texture variations.
I also pasted a copy of texture.cfg from one of the original Texture folders into the new Texture folder so it uses the correct base textures.

All the repaints from my above link are by the same person. The only problem I found with every one of them is the view of the wings from the VC. This is due to a missing texture file - t6_4_t.dds
I assume the repainter didn't realise what it's for.

No, I didn't download every file. I used the very handy "Zip file preview" option on the download pages.
http://simviation.com/1/preview-popup?fileId=34925&path=texture.FAD_2903%2F

Note that if you use the correct texture.cfg most of the included files aren't required. All you need are the three main textures + thumbnail.jpg.

I suspect you didn't swap the texture.cfg. This is the one I'm using.

[fltsim]

fallback.1=..\..\IRIS T-6A Texan II SP2\texture.bump
fallback.2=..\..\IRIS T-6A Texan II SP2\texture.spec
fallback.3=..\..\IRIS T-6A Texan II SP2\texture.vc
fallback.4=..\..\IRIS T-6A Texan II SP2\texture.parts

It will then use the same common textures as the other variations.

I suspect that to be the case, since the redme installation instructions make no mention of having to do that.  Sort of like it does not mention the changes to the aircraft.cfg, besides the [fltsim.XX] entry. Tongue
