I've made it! The end of the week is in sight! Thank goodness for that!
I've had the week from hell with everything from demented and incompetent clients making dozens of hours of work for me through their stupidity/laziness/incompetence to alternators failing on cars causing them to cease working.
Anyone else got that Friday feeling? I'm thinking a nice cold beer is definitely an option after work

...and I'm sat here, as always, in my comfy chair, looking out into my garden, with the sun shining, and thinking to myself, as I do; "Shall I go outside and mow the grass, or should I stay here and pour myself another glass of ice cold beer"....

No Matt, the twit from marketing brought her broken laptop into the office for me instead
However I must say the ice-cold cider is slipping down my neck nicely

Yes, TGIF. I've just installed my new clothes dryer (my old one broke over a year ago and I've been plugging change into the pay-units at the local laundromat) and I get custody of my little girl for the weekend. Yay!
Oh, and the beer is already in the fridge!

Working for 23 years before the accounting firm mast, with 15 of those years also tutoring in the accounting lab at a local college at the same time, and many times dealing with the Firm and then students on the same day sure invoked a lot of screaming.
Seriously. I had no fear of bosses or students, and if anyone, boss or student, got out of hand, I let 'em have it verbally. One partner rubbed me the wrong way once, I walked out of his office saying, "We'll talk when you calm down." He didn't speak to me for an entire year. Fine with me.
And if a student went south, well, you'd be surprised how much respect you get from all the others when you dress someone down verbally. It's suddenly "Sir" this and "Sir" that for awhile. Fortunately, 99.9% of the students behaved very nicely.
And of course ya gotta deal with life on the outside too. So it all added up to stress to the max.
But it's all over now, just working with some tenants who used to rent office space at the Firm and also working for the only Firm partner I considered sane. Noticed I said "working with them". No office politics, no "I gotta have it done yesterday", and no co-workers. How nice.
You look back and wonder how ya did it.
OK, time to mow the lawn.

I had a full day of college (maths, physics, physics, maths, physics) followed by the start of a new job... Immediately after that I went home, went to bed, got up and did my other job; which involved setting up and catering for a wedding (oh, and spilling a perfect pint of Guinness over the friend of the groom) and then finding '3 for £5.50' on large bottles of beer at the Co-Op.
