Though a lot of the scenery is nice (it is Google Earth, after all), after about half an hour, I ran screaming back to FSX.

Never dismiss the new kid on the block. Things change in life. A golden rule. Eventually someone will be the new king of the block.
Can't wait to try this out. I've tried 'flight simulator' in Google Earth in the past and this seems to be progressing nicely.

From what I've heard, they better get the flight characteristics and some aircraft realism before they get me. I've heard you're able to go straight up and not stall.
But sadly, they've got a ways to go before they get me. Though I have to admit, if those google Earth makers put thier minds to it, they'd probably overtake MFS in an instant.

Hehe, I couldn't get the balloon to stay up. I almost said I can't get it up, but some proof reading saved my soul!
Edit: It just takes a lot more hot air than I thought it would.
Flying with twins is a lot of fun..

Yeeeea. Cause flying a 747 through the grand canyon is the most realistic thing EVER
. I don't think you're the kind that always looks for realism.

If the flightgear core developers were a little more serious about flight dynamics (e.g high altitude flying, Shadows) and less about pretty clouds. Microsoft and (Possibly) Laminar research would down on their knees. I've got nothing against pretty clouds(In fact I love them), but they should focus on systems first and
Then
go to graphics.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
