Same as before: It appears to be a FS9, maybe even a FS8 import.  The only way to fix it is to edit the panel.cfg file and substitute in gauges that will work in FSX.  It's tedious, but that's the only way to fix it without simply swapping in the panel folder from aircraft that is similar and works in FSX.  Unfortunatley, that doesn't help too much with the VC.

That depends on if it's a native FSX, or a properly updated import.  I just DL'ed the Nor Cal Prop Club "updat", and frankly, it's down to their low standards. Some of their updates work fairly well, other, you can update your self, and achieve better results.

The only 2D panel that shows is the yellow, and it's missing the same gauges as your screenshot.  If I'm not mistaken, NorCal has another "FSX update, but it's not much better.  On that one, the "Blue" panel works, has the gauges, but they are not re-sized to "fit", and overlap. I think that panel update was for FS9, but the gauges were there.

I'm not sure how to fix the blacked out 2D panels, but for missing gauges, you should be able to open the panel.cfg of the Piper, and open another similar aircraft that has similar gauges and works in FSX, and swap the names of the gauges from the working panel to the Piper's panel.

(I would add more, but I have to leave for school!!  )

99.98% of everything in the FSX section DOES work in FSX.  Pete is only 1 person that also has a real life other than pouring over 20 aircraft and scenery every day just to give us something to download.    Looks like you found a Goose-Egg.  Sorry to disappoint you.

Question, have you tried pressing SHIFT+2, SHIFT+3, SHIFT+4... ETC ETC ETC to see if it has a GPS or the radio stack. I bet it does.

'Goose-Egg' is right.

Both Nor-Cal updates to the PA-23 are 'fails', even by their standards. It's hard to believe that the packages were tested before being uploaded.

Bloat: Original (FS2004) download was 4.5Mb. The updates are 33 and 96Mb due primarily to unnecessary files.

Ref the blacked out 2D panels: Check the panel.cfg files. In the [Window00] and [Window01] sections the file= entrys do not match the .bmp file names present in the respective Panel folders. (pa23?.bmp and payoke?.bmp)

Radios: the original used the FS98 mr.gau, a Collins multi-radio that was located just beneath the 'R77-3BL' plaque in both 2D and VC. They made no attempt at replacing it (maybe with the B-K comm1/nav1 ?) or creating a radio sub-panel.

I recall some work started on another forum, several years ago, to upgrade the panel. I'll see if I can find it.

The aircraft is fine -- but yes the guy had forgotten to include nav radios.
(WRONG)

...

...

This is easily fixed with a little panel edit. As for the 2d panel it's completely blank in my version... - most modern FSX a/c these days don't include a 2d panel (I never use them if I don't have to - even since FS98 I looked forward to VC's)

OK -- On further inspection go to

Thankyou pete for your ongoing patience with this It must be a really hard thing to manage this site, let alone have a live outside of FS..

I will go try this when I get home..

It really sucks I dont have the internet at my house so I have to come back and forth a few miles every time... That is why I only reply once every day or 2.. becasue I have the new information that I go try every time, then I come back and comment on what I find..

But again thankyou very much Grin I shall make a donation some time soon, as its my way to say thanks Smiley
