I used it to great effect in FSX, but without a concrete tutorial or list of the best settings, I'm having less than satisfactory results in FS2004. I'm seeing a lot of I guess what you would call melting of scenery in FS2004, particularly on turns, when the scenery looks like a moving fluid while you're turning. The other thing I've noticed is quite a bit of shimmer from the ground, particularly trees in the snow.

Does anyone know what can be done about any of this? I have all of the display settings maxed in the game and have been toying around with nHancer trying to get better results.

Thanks

I used nhancer with FS9 on XP and Vista til recently installing an ATi card;  it was the only way to  get FSAA enabled.  There are a couple of long threads on this at NVIDIA Forums > Software & Games, with posts dating from 2007 to 2010 (sorry, don't have the exact address as I just copied the basic instructions I needed).

nHancer does not work with ATI cards, only nVidia ones.

Don't expect to be given a list of settings that are perfect.  With nHancer (and indeed most other tweaking programmes) you will need to trial and error to find exactly what suits your PC set up.  It took me a couple of days of tweaking this and tweaking that to find what works for me.

Good luck!

I can't begin to thank you enough - I just updated my Nvidia drivers and used the Inspector tool as specified in the link - the results are nothing short of amazing !!

The "running" markings on runways (especially crosswind runways) as I am on approach are now gone as are the "shimmers" of airport buildings etc..

Ok, dumb question time: in step 4 of the instructions from NickN, where he says "type MS FLIGHT and click the ARROW next to the box (see below). It will take you to MS FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2004 listing,  just skip that and click on the MS Flight Simulator X profile instead", I assume you didn't put in Flight Simulator X, but rather Flight Simulator 2004 and then entered the settings?

Just want to clarify.

*edit: nevermind, I obviously didn't read far enough  Roll Eyes and I wholly concur, these settings seem to make things look quite nice. I'm still wishing I had a lot more tree and house density on the ground, but for IFR, I think FS2004 is going to be great.
