I loaded up FS9 and went straight to the learning center were I met the most amazing couple.. John and Martha King. After the learning center, I fired up FS9 and  tried it out. Flight was incredibly smooth, except for one thing.. Horrible jaggies on the aircraft and shimmering across the horizen. I spent at least 12 hours searching FAQ and many other threads. I've defragged with O&O 11 Pro and tried to dot all my I's and cross all my T's. I just don't know.. FSX looks and runs very nicely on my system. I changed settings in my vid card and in FS9 including using AA in game or AA set by Nhancer no luck. FS9 is managing to frustrate me as much as FSX/Accel. did!

Steve,

Shimmers-keep in game MIPS slider to 4 or 5

here are the settings (as suggested in a forum) I have used forever, and now in Nhancer on a gt240.

Nhancer FS9 profile             in game
------------------                  -------
AA- set in Nhancer,               off
Gamma correction-on
Transparency AA-off
AF- application                   trilinier
Vsync-application
Texture filtering-Quality
Triliner opt-off
Aniso. samp. opt.-off
Neg LOD BIAS-clamp

Hope this helps,
Dave

Steve what settings are you using with FS9 itself? What resolution are you running at?

Ensure you were modifying the correct game profile in NHancer. The actual parameters in the FS9 profile may be conflicting, so check that you modified both the global settings and the FS9 specific settings.

Good morning..thanks for the replies.

Dave, I had the in game settings as per Nicks guide and mipmaps set to 4, I've set up as you've suggested in game and in Nhancer. But still no luck.
----------------------------------------------------
Propwash, here are my specs.

...

BFG (Nvidea) geforce 9800gt
Memory: 1gb (1024mb)GDDR3
Running: Windows XP Pro, 32 bit, currently using 1024 x 768 resolution 60 Hertz
--------------------------------------------------------
Mark, I have tried 1024x768 in game and have tried several higher settings all with no luck.
--------------------------------------------------------
Stephane, I have tried the default settings, Nicks settings, and Daves settings. In Nhancer I highlight the FS9 line and type it into the box above before I started making changes and have set both Global and the other one each time.

                                 Thanks all, Steve
This shot is with all sliders below default, Yet FSX runs great.

Steve,
I'm rather new to using Nhancer. Maybe you have already checked/done this...

Highlight the FS9 profile. (You shouldn't have to type anything in the upper line if you already have a profile??).
Check that  'Profile' is ticked.
Check that fs9.exe is the executable.
Check under 'Options' that 'Allow override.....'  is checked.

Thanks Dave, I opened Nhancer and all seems to be good including the paragraph at the bottom that says it is a customized profile. I had this in FSX once and when I went back to Nvidea driver 174.74 it disappeared completely. I'll mess with the settings for a while longer and tomorrow if all else fails I'll try a reinstall. That driver should easily run FS9. Also I am going to get into the actual Nvidea panel and look things over.

Some thing is amiss and I am tired of trouble shooting. My FSX is running fine, so I'm uninstalling FS9 and tossing it on the shelf. It could be graphics driver, it could be Nhancer, It could be DX10, it's not in game settings, who knows?  Tongue
