Hope not! Flying six cases of blasting caps from McGrath to Nixon Fork Mine is not my idea a nice flight.

Hope that moon on the horizon is a 'good' omen.

It was a bumpy landing. Glad I keep a change of clothes on board.  Roll Eyes Grin

Thanks for looking.

I've been fond of them since I saw my first in the early sixties.

Mcgath to Nixon Fork Mine
Learned to fly at McGrath, a long time ago.  Back then, the Nixon Fork mine was a mom and pop venture 'til some humongous outfit bought them out for millions.  It's unique in being a hardrock mlne in an area of placer operations.  One of the McGrath FBO's had a Tri-Pacer - nicknamed the Flying Milkstool  Smiley.

caps are harmless.   C4, or even Dynomite by themselves is virtually harmless.   .... Now, if you were shipping C-4 or Dynomite (din-O-me-tay) WITH the caps installed, then yeah you got a problem.

Excellent shots!!

I was hoping you might have a history and/or geography lesson about it. I always enjoy reading your experiences. Smiley

I beg to differ with you. Blasting caps, especially in large quantities, can be very dangerous.

Quote:
Most blasting caps contain what is called a primary explosive. A primary explosive is a high explosive compound that will explode from flame, heat or shock. A blasting cap may also contain a booster – another explosive to make the cap more powerful, and thus more reliable for detonating secondary explosives.
Explosives commonly used in blasting caps include mercury fulminate, lead azide, lead styphnate and tetryl. The recommended primary explosive is DDNP because it's non toxic, easy to make and not too sensitive.

Wonderful shots Larry...I really like the first one... Smiley

Now is that FS2004 you are using and if it is I am wondering if that little bugsmasher is compatible with FSX?

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Yes Doug, it's still FS2004. The aircraft is Lynn & Bill Lyons Tripacer. I don't know if it works in FSX or not, but it's certainly worth trying. Here
