sim: FSX. (sorry about leaving that out)

I am looking for effects or any neccessary files needed to add the exhaust heat blur that real engines put out behind the engines even under idle.

Can anyone help?

Thanks, Below is a pic of what I am talking about.

Anyone know where I can find the heat haze that you can see at ground level? The blur behind engine.

You didn't specify which sim, but for FS9, try AutoEnvironment, 8th down on the page (http://www.simviation.com/simviation/index.php?type=item&ID=91&page=1) - does this and more.

What you can do behind an engine in FS is limited by the effects engine.

Ok sorry in other forums this is allowed one time a day. To bump the thread. I won't do it again then. I edited the posts to not be the ttt.

Wow this thread has gotten way off topic from the original question. Can anyone help with that?

venomhatch, ff someone knew where to get an effect, they could tell me, and you could tell me which jet you want the exhaust on and I could place if for you, unless you know how to do it yourself.

As I recall, AE works with FSX; it's just that the exhaust is darker in FSX than it is in FD9 and I haven't got around to doing anything about it yet.

Mainly because I hardly ever fire up FSX!

An exhaust effect in fsx or any other sim doesn't exist because it is impossible.  You can not achieve a selective blur with a plugin or effect file.  You can simulate the effect (as mentioned above) that creates an illusion of the effect. Wink

Well if FS2004 Is the best I wish I could get ahold of that one. But I will try the AE on FSX and see. Thanks Microlight.
