I was not even aware Skywalk existed. Thank you for the link Cory. After a search, I found a really good picture of it, of the rather large variety. See Twofer. I had to crop it a good bit to get the file size manageable. I can not even imagine the engineering requred for such a project.  Shocked

They had a really good documentary on TV (Discovery I think) about how it was built and all that, I found it very interesting.

Justin, I also saw that documentary.  It was really good at explaining everything about building it and the technology used.

Cory

I think they built that Skywalk on the Hualapai reservation. I'm surprised they allowed it as this is the unspoiled end of the Canyon with no commercialism or railings. They don't even allow aircraft along this part. It wasn't there when I visited although the restaurant was in the winding hut of the old cable car that used to cross the canyon. The hut was built on the edge of the canyon. Hands up how many people knew about that. Cool

PS. I've just found some photos of the Guano Cafe as it's now called & it seems a lot has changed since my visit.

Just a tidbit about snow,  Cheesy

All though Arizona is known as a desert, the northern end is fairly elevated and gets snow quite often.  Cool

Beautiful shots. I was there once 10 years ago. I should really check it out again.

I've heard of the skywalk before. I got to spend a day at the Grand Canyon Park 12 or 13 years ago, but I've always wanted to go back and spend even more time there.
