I have uploaded a couple of images today, but they are not appearing in the relevant posts. I am getting the link to confirm the upload which I then copy and paste into my post, but then I only get a small box with a red cross after a short time. Any ideas?
Matt
Edit, if you try

and hit "quote" you can see that the image link is present, just not the image itself.

It's the old problem Matt. Spaces in the file names.

Thanks Hagar. Now you mention it, Ozzy posted a reminder a couple of weeks ago

Here's a tip, from someone who Hagar will tell you was the most ham-fisted image uploader ever at one time...
Pick a prefix: two or three letters that are easy for you to remember, or relevant to you. Yours could be "exp". for example.
Now, whenever you upload an image, name it "exp" followed by the date, followed by a number if there is more than one on that date. For example: "exp12100901".
Very unlikely to have already been used, or to get used again, and... hey, wow, no spaces!
There is simply no reason to make the image name something that describes the image... a picture is worth a thousand words!
People get into trouble doing this, because it invites adding spaces or re-using an already-uploaded name ("747 at LAX.jpg", that sort of thing).
I also find it easier, using this system, to organize my groups of images before posting. If there are multiple groups on the same date, I add a group number. (for example: "exp1210090101". This system makes it real easy to sort pics out prior to formatting and uploading, as well.
Most of what I post here are my own photos... I organize the originals on my HDD by date, so I can cross-reference easily (like if I want to post a pic later from the same session or whatever). Within the folder for each date, I make a subfolder called "simv", then more subfolders within that, each containing no more than 600K worth of copies of selected orignals that I have chosen to format for uploading. Those get the "prefix-plus" numbers, by date, folder, and sequence in folder.
It works great. No repeats, no spaces... and they are easier to dig up later if you need to get them off the site server, should the need arise.

It's not really related, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to post a link with clickable text. I know how to do it with a thumbnail but it's not the same.

Speaking of things we (I), don't understand. When a person copies intending to paste, but then decides not to paste, and however decides to copy and paste something else, does the new copy delete the old one?
Off topic a bit but it is Friday night here.

Based on my experience, yes, it replaces the first copy.
And thanks for the hyperlink help, I think I have it now.

Looking at the way you 'worded' your response and seeing my scrolling 'whee' above put me into fits of laughter. Guess I've just got the giggles today.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you too.
