This seems to happen with the C-130, C-141, and C-5 and I always push SHIFT E 2 to try and open the ramp door from behind but all I get is the "Main Exit Opening" flash message. I just feel lost on what to do.

Anyone, please help.

Ok, I'm assuming you mean that you get the message but the cargo ramp isn't opening?  You didn't say who's planes you were having a problem with, so I can't know for sure, but have you tried any other commands? It could have more than two doors, which means trying the shift-E-3 or 4 commands, or they could have assigned it to open with the tailhook command or the concord nose command, I've even seen planes that use the speedbrake/spoiler command for this.  Usually something like this would be explained in the readme included with the file.

Yeah, the readme has the command which SHIFT E 2, but I when use the An-124, An-225, C-5, C-141, and C-130, nothing happens.

The C-130 I've just tried uses the Tailhook command to operate the rear cargo ramp. You might need to assign a key for this command from FS Settings.

I have certain planes that no matter what exit I press, it opens the main one.  Happens on all of my PCs.  I know they have other exits, because early on after installing FS, they worked.  I'm not willing to do a reinstall just for this, though.  It is nice to know that it IS NOT JUST MY PCs, Lol, but it still gets annoying.  Any ideas why this happens would be wonderful.

It isn't the site's fault, though.

Asus G71GX-RX05 from BestBuy.     2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 (Very easily overclocked by 15%, 25% for xtreme live-or-die sessions),
6GB of 800MHz DDR2 RAM       1GB GDDR3 Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M     500GB 5400 RPM SATA-150 HDD, w/ 2nd drive bay.  All for only $1300!

THIS IS AWESOME!!!

Help stop this scum from infiltrating the games we know and love!

I don't think the readme of the An-124 and the An-225 mention SHIFT E 2 to open the ramp, but I'll take a look again tonight.

In any case, for those two planes, why don't you simply use the switches in the cockpit ?

It would help to know which specific files we're talking about. The only C-5 & C-141 I can find are the ex-FS9 models by Mike Stone. I've tried both in the FSX Demo & everything works as advertised. (See shots below.)

Make sure you're pressing the correct keys. Shift + E, release, then number 2, 3 , 4 etc on the main keyboard NOT Num Pad. I suspect this might explain Falcon61's original problem.

Mike Stone's C-5A with all exits open. Shift + E front cargo ramp, Shift + E then 2 for rear cargo doors. Tailhook for crew entrance.
...

Same for the C-141. Shift + E for main crew entrance, Shift + E then 2 for rear cargo ramp. Tailhook for rear paratroop doors.

Only the switches in the cockpit can open the ramp.  The SHIFT+E combations are for all of the other doors.

Have a Happy New Year Everyone!

To make opening the doors easier, go into Settings\Controls\Keys and Buttons and change the open doors command to E.

Again this depends on which files we're talking about. What you say is correct for Tom Ruth's latest "true FSX" models. His earlier FS9 version of the An-124 uses the Shift + E & Shift + E 2 commands to open the main crew exit & front cargo ramp. Taillhook for rear cargo doors. See AN124-210 on this page. http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?ID=60&page=26&mark=3530
I haven't tried his earlier An-225 but I suspect that's the same.

I'm not convinced that will help. The E key is already assigned by default to engine selection. It doesn't matter which key command you use for selecting the exit, the important thing is pressing the correct number keys. Keyboard NOT Num Pad.

For anyone asking for help, it's very useful to know exactly which file(s) you're having problems with. The file description & a link to the page it's posted on saves a lot of messing about.

I did not mean that as a solution, but as a helpful comment.  Also, changing the command to E was only a suggestion, you can change it whatever key you have open.
