I'm running FSX with Squawkbox4.  I am trying to configure my sound so that aircraft sounds will come out of the speakers and ATC will come out of the headset.  I have SB4 configured for the headset (xmit & receive) but I can only get sound one of 2 ways.  Either everything through the speakers or everything through the headset - I can't get the two "split".   Is this possible to do.  Am I doing something wrong in the setup.  Thoughts and help are appreciated as always!

My Specs:
i7 920 oc'd to 3.8
6gb Corsair RAM
ASUS P6T Deluxe v2,
EVGA 275GTX
1TB WD 7200/32 Black
2x 750GB WD 7200/32 Black
Samsung 22" 1680x1050 LCD
Corsair 800D case
Windows 7 64-bit

I don't have SB4, but I had the same problems.

Supposedly you are supposed to configure your sound cards with the "Sound" option in the "Control Panel" There's an option there that I don't have.

Here is an extract from  http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/Pages/SP2-EN-ReadMe.aspx

Sound Settings
We modified the Sound Settings dialog box so you can select separate audio adapters directly in the Sound Settings dialog box. We removed the Configure button and provided two list boxes to select audio adapters to separate voice and other sounds.

Or look at http://www.simpilotnet.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=3...

I've never been able to figure out what they're talking about.

That's about all I can do to help, sorry.

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?...
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

OK, I finally figured it out... of course you'll need two sound cards.

...

But as far as SB4??? I'm not sure on that

Well, my sound drivers have this...

I don't know if this helps, looks to me I could configure ONE sound card to split sounds  Undecided
