that should be MORE than good to run your FS9.

here is what I am running..... and ALL of my sliders are maxed out and I can still get around 20FPS.

Dell Inspiron 2200 Laptop
WINXP Home (sp3)

Thank you for your reply.

But the thing is i run many add planes like Level D and PMDG, and i have good results even with many scenery, like EGLL pro and AI traffic.So im a bit afraid of switching.

The 4650 has half the memory bandwidth of the 7950GT. It wouldn't be surprising if you would actually get worse performance in MSFS if you moved to the 4650. In other applications the 4650 is faster though.

Go grab a 9600GT 512. It is a PCI-E 2.0 card although it should have no problems in most 1.0 and 1.1 motherboards. Some users have reported issues, but I've never had any (and this includes an 9600GT 512 on an ancient Intel 925x). This applies to the 4650 also, but I thought I would point it out anyways.

EDIT: If it's a gift, then there's no harm trying the 4650, at least.
