Ok, I've exported the model to FS9, and all the textures show up correctly, but dark. like they are all in the shadows.

Thanx Alex, I did the changes you suggested, but still with no luck
maybe it is something to do with the reflection / refracion indexes, and general texture settings? It is more a matter of no light at all on the model

That easier then
must be something with the alpha channel
in few words a texture issue
remember you always(for FS9-SDK) have to any shine alpha bmp create a light map other wise you will see at night transparency issue it can be a 256x256 0,0,0 map
I don't know what are you working with If with FS9-SDK or FSX-SDK but the light map are just for FS9-SDK.
good luck on that..

All due respect, if this is true why don't some of the default aircraft have lightmaps?
Just curious,
Joe

Damn, I completely forgot about the alpha channel! It is white at the moment....no wonder! About night light textures, isnt it just because some models doesnt have lights modelled within, therefore the night light textures? Thanx Alex for the help!

My Models are for FS 9 do not have night maps and are not transparent of a night.
At least not at the moment and the full livery is here in the dark.

Lightmaps accomplish a couple things.
One being logo lights and wing lights.
Another is to give the appearance of pax windows lit up at night to planes that don't have them.
The default Boeings, AI, a lot of tubeliners have pax windows painted on as opposed to having windows cut in the side. This method cuts down on a ton of polys that would be required to model all those holes in the fuselage, and then you would have to model an interior.
They are a useful tool, but not required at all.
regards,
Joe

Ok, I've updated the Alpha channel, but still problems. See the following screenshots? Maybe someone see something not in place?
This is a shot when selecting the aircraft. The texture show bright and normal
This is a shot when the aircraft is selected. See the difference from the first shot? the aircraft also appear this dark in gameplay.
This is the texture settings in DXTBMP.
and here is the texture settings in Gmax
Edited:
I've even detached and removed ALL the textures, and still the same. Also I,ve attached some standard textures from Gmax just to experiment, and still no luck

Are you are using 16bit???
Make your bitmaps extentend 32 bit 888-8 and try that
You possibly don't need DXT3 unless you have a struggling system.
I don't use DXT3 for main maps
It looks like you might be making DXT3 off of 16 bit from the heading on the window.

thank you, I already tried the 32 bit 888-8, but then the textures doesn't even show. I also removed ALL the textures in Gmax and expport again, and still the same problem. maybe a FS9 problem??

Have you saved as a 24 bit in the paint programme before calling it into Gmax.
Afterward call it up in DXT.BMP add the alpha and save as Extended 32 bit 888-8.
