Server Load? (Read 394 times)

I noticed that we still have fully working, visible screenshot posts dating back to 2003 on the forums. Wouldn't having this amount of images residing on a/some server(s) be detrimental in some way?
Along those lines, I'm wondering if this non-deletion policy is part of the reason for the 150kb limit on shots.

It's just disc space which is not a problem. Even if there were a  million JPG files in there is it only a question of the computer (server) finding the name and displaying it. This is not a problem. We have well over 1TB of disc space.

That said - the old images were deleted from time to time .. The big problem now is that many are used in tutorials, etc .. going way back ... so .. this is why they are still there & probably will remain .. Smiley

The 150 limit is for those who cannot get broadband. There are still a lot of people who live in areas where broadband is simply not available. (personally I'd move! Smiley )

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
