What I believe you're describing not just a view, but also "slew mode".  To get the view, right-click on any part of the screen, then choose Select View-->Top Down.  Then press "Y" and you will have entered slew mode.  To exit slew, simply press "Y" again.  F1-F4 controls movement up and down.

No, you know how when your playing the cursor is an "Arrow", theres this one this one view or command that like turns your "Arrow" To A "+" And you can see everywhere.

im not sure if it is what i think it is, but it sounds like "pan (look) using the mouse).  If it is... i have no clue what the command is for it.

what i do know however, is if you are in 2d cockpit mode, you can hit SHIFT+(arrows) to look around.  UP=forward, DOWN=to the rear of the cabin/back of plane, RIGHT=right, LEFT=left.

it wont turn your --> to a + , but you can look around.

also, if you press "S" 3 times, you will enter SPOT VIEW / External view.  ..... from here, SHIFT+Arrows will make you look around your aircraft, while your craft is centered in the field of view.

I think what you're talking about is something found in FSX, not FS2004. In FSX, if you hold down the SPACEBAR, you can look around using the mouse.

Hold Down Space Bar? I've Tried it and it doesn't seem to work. And i have seen youtube videos of people using the little "+" to move around the view on FS2004.

Maybe your thinking of F1veiw utility  http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library ; it allows you to pan around using the mouse, I tried it a few years back and really didnt like it, however in David Maltby's planes (which are amazingly good  Cool) they come with a similar utility built in and it works great. just google his name and you should be able to find his site..............better yet.........Trackir  Wink
