Hello Chums... Smiley...!

After using VOZ for my Koorbygen buildings and ground colours and Textures for a number of years, I have just installed Ground Environment Pro, and unfortunately all my beautiful, realistic, colourful Koorbygen buildings have all been replaced by the default FS 2004 buildings...

I was previously informed by some of the members that the VOZ Koorbygen buildings will be retained in GE Pro...

Any ideas how I can swap the Default buildings for my Koorbygen buildings without affecting anything else?

Note: my FS2004 is still "VOZed", as well as well as running GE Pro

Many thanks...Wink...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004.... Cool...!

You need to install GEP first, on a non- VOZed install.

Then, do the VOZ installation, and pick your region and you should have a mix of the two, with your favorite buildings. Smiley

If you installed GEP over top of the VOZed installation, it probably just overwrote all of the VOZ textures with the GEP ones.
GEP has it's own building textures. Wink

When I reinstalled, I actually let my computer run and create the Max number of sets it would allow. 495.

It took 23 hours.  Shocked Tongue

I'm glad the sky sets didn't take as long. Wink Cheesy

Glad to hear your world is back to 'normal'. Wink     Grin

Paul... Grin... Grin... Grin...!

..problem #2...

Every time I run GE Pro, with my newly created Ground Textures for my scene...

...it automatically replaces my Koorbygen Buildings with the Default Buildings again!... Angry...!

Arrgggghhh!....!

Looks like I'm stuck with EITHER running VOZ...OR GE Pro....

....but not BOTH at the same time!

Paul....G-BPLF...FS 2004... Cool...!

Hmmm... That's strange, as I'm running both myself.

Make sure that there is no automatically loading textures due to using real world weather.

That's the whole purpose of creating those texture sets, to have ground textures for all kinds of weather conditions, whereas VOZ just has one set for all. Wink

It should never load in new textures unless you have it set to do so. Nor should you have to run the GEP program everytime you fly. Just install the textures once, and that's it. (unless you choose otherwise.)

Hmmm....more to learn yet...

What I am doing at the present, is setting up a selection of Ground Textures and Colours for different locations, and different conditions....

..and when I select, and install my selection before my flight, they are automatically replacing my VOZ Koorbygen buildings with the Default Buildings each time!..

More experiments needed...Wink...!

Paul..G-BPLF...FS 2004... Cool...!

GE Pro is an expensive program, and I don't want to abandon it to enable me to keep my VOZ Koorbygen Buildings!

Hmmm, you could just find & copy all of the VOZ building textures into a separate folder, and copy past them in after each modification.

As a bonus, anytime you ever lose them in the future, you'll have them all ready to go. Wink

It looks as though each time I "install" the GE Pro Textures for my new location, and new condition, I will have to Un-VOZ and Re-VOZ each time to get the Koorbygen buildings to replace the Default Buildings!

I'll give that a try tomorrow...It's bed time now, and my Teddy Bear is calling...Wink...!

Paul... Grin...!

P.S.  ...but he snag with that idea is that the VOZ Textures are probably over riding the new GE Pro Textures... Shocked....!

That's why you need just the building textures from VOZ. Wink

I wonder how many there are. Shocked The only way to know is to VOZ up and look. Wink

It's going to be a long night. Grin

Here we go... Smiley...!

Just did a Google search for "Koorbygen Buildings" and this came up...>>>

http://www.flightsimworld.com/downloads/viewfile/693.html

Koorbygen Lite*.

Just 4 Files covering the whole group!

These are just the buildings only, which are normally contained within the VOZ program!

So, I'm going to fire up GE Pro scenery with my scenery selection. then pop the 4 Koorbygen Files in my Texture Folder, to replace the Default Files....

..see what 'appens!... Wink...!

Paul...G-BPLF..FS 2004... Cool...!

* I remember, many years ago, "Rollerball" led me to this file, which replaced all my FS 2004 Default Buildings with the lovely, colourful Koorbygen ones... Kiss...
...my memory is slowly coming back!... Grin... Grin...!

Well Chums...

I've just forked out $50 for "Ground Environment Pro" for FS 2004, and I'm a bit disappointed, (in my case)... Roll Eyes...!

It seems it is fine for all those new FS 2004 Pilots, starting out with a clean slate, Default scenery, and very few add-ons...

...but after spending many years upgrading my FS 2004 with all sorts of tasty, free, add-ons, bit by bit, until it looks really fantastic... Smiley....

......installing GE Pro then overrides, and often deletes, many of my favourite add-ons and just converts all my Scenery and Textures  to an improved version of the Default Scenery/Textures!.... Cry...!

So there you go Chums.....

Horses for Courses....

It's EITHER GE Pro...OR...your own favourite scenery and textures...

...but not BOTH at the same time... Cry...!

Paul....back to all my own scenery and VOZ Textures!.... Kiss...

..and $50 down the drain, (for me)... Cry...Boo-Hoo!

.... Grin...!

It's an FSX thing Paul.

Once you've flown in that environment, you'll do anything to stay there...

...including spending $50 to try and make FS9 look as close to it as possible.  Wink

It took me a long time to even bring myself to buy some payware,
and I must say that GEP for FS9 was the best of those purchases,
and I will NEVER* fly in FS9 without it.

*(my Golden Wings & Silver Wings versions are very notable exceptions.  Wink Grin )

I purchased FSX the day is was first released in England, as I have done with all my other MS Flight Sims, but until the day arrives when I am prepared to throw loadsa money at my Computer to get FSX running satisfactorily (which I'm not prepared to do!), like many other Flight Simmers, I'm perfectly happy with my version of FS 2004...(and my FS Navigator for FS 2004!... Wink...)... Kiss...!

I'm afraid, upgrading Computer Hardware doesn't occupy an important part of my life for the purpose of Flight Simming!.*..Wink... Grin...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004 (and FSX!)... Cool...!

* ....I would rather spend the money on a new Music Workstation....or a nice red Ducati 999... Smiley...Priorities!...Wink...!!
