After take off my aircraft takes on a pitch up attitude until eventually it stalls. Adjusting trim makes no difference as trim constantly goes back. This happens even if the autopilot is set and on all aircraft, any ideas?

Disconnect your Autopilot, trim the Aircraft for slight nose up, and continue the climb MANUALLY until you reach Cruise height....
...then, after selecting your desired Altitude and Heading, enable the Autopilot.

Always Re-trim the Aircraft after switching off the Autopilot. (When you land, the Trim Wheel may be in the wrong position for the next take-off!...take a peek at the Trim Wheel Indicator before take off!...Wink...!

Operating the Elevator Trim Wheel is as important as using your Yoke/Joystick..

...(Pilots often fly with one hand on the Trim Wheel during manual flight)..Wink...!

Excellent, Ivor...

..always check the position of your Trim Wheel, every time, before take off...

...its nearly always in the wrong position!... Grin... Grin...!

Paul... Wink...!

For take-off, trim the nose very slightly high...Wink...!

Shouldn't that be "neutral trim"?

In theory, yes..  and in theory, neutral trim would be takeoff trim.. but that also supposes the theory that the trim indicator is accurate.. and since you just flew the plane, you know where takeoff trim lies.. and your best guess at neutral trim might not even be close.. and the whole thing is redundant, because the next pilot's takeoff checklist will include, "trim for takeoff".. so all you're really doing is trying to stick to the life-saving script.. and since, right after tkeoff, I always tap the brakes, and say, "gear up", while reaching for the imaginary gear lever on the Warrior's panel... and...

Kinda like a GUMPS check before landing in an Archer

Gas - on a good tank
Undercarriage - Welded down
Mixture - Full rich
Prop - Still spinning
Slats/Flaps - Extended

On my GA Piston Props I generally trim the nose slightly high, before take-off*, (rather than "Neutral")...

I find that the aircraft will then (almost) lift itself off the runway automatically when sufficient air speed has been reached... Smiley...!

Relieves the back pressure on the Yoke/Joystick necessary to un-stick the wheels!

Paul...G-BPLF... Cool...!

* ..and also before landing, to slow the Aircraft down, (especially after cancelling the Autopilot)!
