I suppose this could go in some central place like the general discussion....anyway:

In the sim, what are your favorite airfields to operate from? (Departing/Arriving)

Try to limit your answers to no more than four choices if possible.

Mine in no particular order:

Boston Logan (KBOS)
Milan Linate (LIML)
Reagan National (KDCA)
Zurich Kloten (LSZH)

I most frequently fly from / to airpoprts that have AES services available.  My "home" major airport is KBOS...which is where I tend to fly out of in real life.

Another common place for me is RJAA (New Tokyo International Airport..... colloquially known as "Narita"....which is the town in which it is located).  Japan is my "second home".... both in the sim and somewhat in real life.

best,

...............john

I like Hana (HNM) for my WWII birds and C-150, and I like Ronald Reagan INTL (DCM) for everything else, cause I live close by. Sorry, only two.

Well, it depends what kind of flight we're talking about. When it comes to IFR, commercial flights, I land mainly in:
- Nice Cote d'Azur (my home airport in France)
- Sion (Switzerland)
- Innsburck (Austria)
Nice area is nice for traditionnal IFR approached, especially at dawn and dusk when you arrive from Milan. The real life approach can be very challenging when you have to land in the west direction, I always try to follow the same path in the sim.
Sion and Innsbruck have challenging approaches because of the surrounding mountains. Flying between those two makes a nice 1 hour IFR flight over the alps, very enjoyabe view from there, and many possible destinations from there.

When it comes to VFR short flight, exploration, bush flying ect, my main points of interests are:
- Concrete Mum (east of Seattle, never remember if it's in the US of Canada)
- the various altiports in the Alps (France or Switzerland)
- Aix les bains (France)

Aix and the altiports are located in the Alps, short VFR flights between them is really cool to enjoy the great landscape.
Concrete Mum is surely the place where I've been spending most of my FS time back in FS9. A big lake nearby, and a big naturla area to explore, full of airfields here an there.

I have my sim set up to load at EGKA, Shoreham UK which is my closest airport and the one I'm having flying lessons at, so I use that a lot.

For airliner flying, I use KLAS (McCarran, Las Vegas) and KSEZ (Sedona AZ) as bases for my trips around the US south-west which is where I tend to fly a lot these days. I can get a 737-600 or an Airbus A318 into and out of Sedona which is a significant challenge, if you've never tried it. Otherwise, in the UK it tends to be EGKK (Gatwick) using Gary Summons' terrific Gatwick scenery, flying to Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow predominantly (all using Gary's freeware sceneries).

1. South-Western Chile- I love exploring the different gorges & mountain valleys there.

2. Himalayas / Swiss Alps -same as above

3. Hawaii- The scenery I've got for there is worth returning to over & over. Wink Nice mix of everything FS9 has to offer.

4. My home area, it's flat & full of corn fields, but I can navigate several hundred miles of Ohio, just by following the roads, and never get lost. That's a good feeling. Cool

Believe it or not - good old default SEA.  Great for a quick tryout of a new download.  Takeoff SEA to the north - over to BFI for a touch and go then back to SEA, landing to the south.  By then you know if you got a good one.

MPLS/STP (KMSP) my hometown airport. I have assigned a B727-200 as charter for the Minnesota Twins flying to away games and back. It gives me familiarity with a number of domestic airports.
My test flight route is KSEA to KPDX (Portland, OR). It takes about 40-45 minutes.
General Aviation: There are several good GA airports around the Twin Cities; Crystal, St.Paul Holman, Flying Cloud, Anoka County.
Now that NWA has merged with Delta I am spending more time around Atlanta Hartsfield.

So Ozzy. Why do you need to keep your bases a secret? Not running any "Black ops" out of them are you?  Grin Grin Grin

I do a LOT of beta-testing and I like a mix of environments to fly in to test machines to their limits in all possible settings. I don't like to reveal what is going on... hence why I don't post many screenshots of late!

Since I fly FSE I fly where ever I can make a virtual buck.
My groups base is MYGF. So I tend to fly out of there more than another other spot. Plus that's where I base my 3 aircraft.
I try to stay in the Bahamas or eastern US, Mexico and S. America.

I fly
