Shocked  New Jersey Devils come back and tie the game up...Carolina gets control...clock runs down...Carolina Shoots!!!!

00.1 seconds left on the clock as the puck crosses the goal line...Canes win to tie the series.  What a third period!!!!!   Shocked

Thank god!

KEEP IT UP CAROLINA!  Cool

As I said that was going to be the best match-up for the first round. Smiley

You called that one, the only series tied up as of tonight.  Going to be the series to watch after the Wings sweep the Jackets.   Wink

Yeah, I just havent tunned into that series.  Grin Undecided

Besides the Wings winning, the Canucks should also get a win tonight to sweep the Blues.
Also Pitt should beat Philly.

Pitts beat philly already, 3-1.

Oh, I meant for the series.  Cool

...I saw the Carolina goal on NHL.COM...!
That was one damn AMAZING game! Never seen a finish like that and of course its playoff hockey like you said. Still with 2 seconds left they try for 1 last slapshot. Usually teams just let it go to OT. Im sure no one will be doing that anymore after seeing that finish.  Shocked

Wings win 4-1.  Brett, I know you were there watching it live, I pray you got pictures!!!

Yeah.. I was there (great, lower-bowl seats, 5 rows from the ice). Incredible atmosphere, and wonderful fans..  but same old story..  Cry

No long-wided review here.. there's a talent and experince gap that I haven't seen in pro sports in a long time.

Unless they have some sort of let-down.. teams facing the Wings should be very worried. They're on a mission.. and putting on a hockey clininc  Cool

Boston advances to round two with a sweep, Rangers get a win to make it 3-1, and Calgary ties the series up against Chicago.

I'm getting my broom out for tomorrows Wings game...hoping for a sweep, then hoping for another Ducks win over the Sharks.

Shocked  Shocked  Who lit a fire under the Blue Jackets' butt?!?  Came down to the two minutes and the Wings made it on a power play...6-5 Wings sweep.

Got my broom out, terrific show of defiance Jackets, you had me worried.

Congrats Philly, keeping the series alive with a shutout on the Penguins!

Jersey is looking good so far, keep it up!

The big match tonight...besides the Wings...Sharks VS Ducks...Game 4...Ducks up 2-1...they need two wins to kill the Sharks

Well Calgary came back. Looks like the Rangers might take that win over the Caps. Thats a big upset.

Sharks series still underway so who knows what yet. Carolina lost.  Embarrassed
Although all there games are by 1 so the next one will be a good one.

Congrats to the Wings on an easy first round series.  Grin

Sorry Brett  Undecided..but I feel your pain, my team was in last place in the Western Conference.  Grin

And last year I remember when we beat the Wild, which I knew we could. Then once I heard we were playing the Wings I lost all my hope and then we got shutout in the series 4-0.  Tongue Undecided

I'll admit I'm still learnng about hockey.. But what I have learned, is that the officiating is very.. umm.. "dynamic". To their credit; the refs will try to even up one bad call with another..

What I saw last night, was a tough TOUGH playoff game.. The last penalty called was  HALF-WAY through the second period. They were "letting them play", and it wa a world-class game.

THEN.. ..
THAT
kinda penalty, with barely a minutte left, when the score was tied ?????????? .. a PLAYOFF game ??

It's wrong wrong wrong... the refs knew it.. you could see it in their body language. It cheated everyone (even the Wings) out  of a great finish, to a great game.  Angry

That's very true Brett, it didn't make sense for them "let them play" and then suddenly start calling penalties at the very end.  The replay does show too many men on the ice, but as you said, it was wrong for them to change their style of reffing at the end of the game.

The Jackets fans are some of the best I have seen in the NHL, they rode it out to the very end, stayed loud and made it enjoyable to watch the game even on on the road (I was laughing when the crowd was chanting Osgood!  Osgood!)

That last game was playoff hockey, up to the last minute, they gave us a run, I'm surprised we won with Osgood hurting in the net like that.  Good game Jackets.  It will be interesting to see how they do next year now that they have a playoff series under their belt...

It's weird..  I'm a huge Packer fan.. have been to many great games at sports most hallowed shrine (Lambeau Filed).. and in the 80s, I followed the Celtics around.. saw a couple great gems then, too..

But this was different.. If a team ever wins the Cup because the fans deserve it.. it will happen in Columbus. Ive never seen (or been a part of), anyhing like that.

Hats off the Wings..  Smiley   I'll be cheering for them now !!

** Oh.. the chant is,      "Osgooood... NO gooood  ....... Osgooood.. NO Good"...  Cheesy

Grin  It sounded different over the network.  I didn't hear the Nooooo Gooood   Grin

Couldn't believe a Wings fan had the guts to throw an Octopus out there...kinda goes against the tradition...never throw in enemy territory, keep it at the Joe.
