Yeah.. I was hoping for more, "grit" from the Jackets.. they played tough for the better part of two periods.. but then poise and experience made the difference.

Lotsa hockey left, but they're gonna have dig down and decide that they want it... and hope for a mental let-down from the Wings.

Pretty entertaining game, though  Smiley

I agree Brett, first half was neck to neck, and some serious physical play by both teams.  Looking forward to Saturday's game.

Next up, Sharks vs Ducks...GO DUCKS GO!!!!  Need to knock those Sharks out early!!

The only chance the Jackets have.. is to find that "zone", and hope for the Wings to find a slump.

What was really telling, and shows the difference between a team that's been there, and one there for the first time EVER.. was the early hitting. The Jackets were going out of there way to hit, even foresaking puck control.. and the Wings were expertly making hits when they were there for the taking..  And then the Jackets went flat.. like they were having an adrenalin crash.. and the Wings, expertly paced themselves.

Poise and experience win playoff games..  Wink

That's what i love about the game, big hits!   Cool

And to be honest, that's a weakness with the Wings, if the opposing team hits them up a lot, they tend to lose focus, and other teams have taken advantage of that.  I imagine that was the Jackets strategy coming into the game, but the Wings worked around it this time.

Go Blackhawks !
They were hitting pretty good last night and showed some spunk by coming back and winning in overtime.
Maybe there's hope yet if they play every game like this.
Except maybe having to go into OT to win it.

The Blackhawks came in at number 4 and won their past 3 games so they are going to be a team to watch this series.  If the Wings win and the Hawks win, it will be Wings vs Hawks for round 2 of the Playoffs (I think)

Two overtime wins and a shutout tonight!

Pittsburgh and Philly go overtime, Penguins win... (come on Philly)

Carolina and Jersey go overtime, Carolina wins.... (seriously Jersey?)

St Louis gets shut out by Vancouver...3-0   This was the only game I watched and St Louis played some good hockey...but wow, Vancouver has tweaked their game, they will be a team to keep an eye on...

You cant underestimate the Hurricanes. The name and team seem like oh easy but I think this will be the best matchup between the first round. Im going with Carolina and im really really happy they won. Remember the devils a few weeks ago were on a 6 game lossing streak.

The Hurricanes just ended there 9 game WINNING streak last week.  Cool Cam Ward should have a tough matchup but he better pull out the win.

With Pittsburg, I just thinkt that Philidelphia was overrated. They were on TV all the time with the matchup of the week.  Roll Eyes Comeon now..there's better games out there then them..
Pitts gunna get that easy win.

And Vancover might even sweep them 4-0 in the series.  Grin
Day 2 of the 2nd games to be played tommrow.
Should be a good one, hopefully ill tune into one and watch them. Couldn't catch the Carolina game today, even if it was televised.

As for the Devils losing streak...the Wings were on an ELEVEN game losing streak headed to the playoffs and got the cup  Wink  Playoffs are a totally different hockey game.

Philly VS Pitts?  I'm just sick of seeing wonder-boy Crosby carry the team lol

I'm going to miss the Wings game tomorrow  Cry  I've got to shoot the rifle at a funeral that starts the same time as the game.  But I will be watching the Sharks lose on Sunday.

Very true but how they looked when the season ended I can easly see that Devils v.s. Hurricanes game go into 7.

Bummer. Sad Dont jinx the sharks in winning! Thats the last thing I want.

Oh god Sidney Crosby Roll Eyes Lips Sealed He's so overrated. He gets way to much media time. Alex Ovechkin should be getting the other half that Crosby doesn't need. Dont get me wrong, he is an excelent hockey player but serouisly Ovechkin has twice as better goals, more points, the most points in the NHL (not sure if it won it this year but he did last year) and yet you never see him getting more than that Crosby. Lips Sealed It pisses me off. Other players pull out better talent them him but they dont get the credit by the media. Ask anyone who Evgeni Malkin, Zach Parise, Phil Kessel, Nicklas Lidstrom is and they probally wont know. But ask them who Crosby is and bam they know him. Rediculous. Roll Eyes Lips Sealed Undecided
