Whilst I enjoy the light hearted banter between the A380 and the Dreamliner that we have on this forum, that is very bad news for Boeing. Once one starts to cancel, generally it is a slippery slope, especially for an aircraft that has not jet made a first flight. A few A380 orders where also canceled, but that was not in very tough economic times and on the back of major strikes by a work force. The company I work for has ordered 25............only time will see.

Indeed, and if it really is going to cut its workforce by 10.000? Then well, tough times ahead for boeing, lets hope it will all be alright eventually.

Didn't at one point the workers said they were willing to take a pay cut to build the KC-767 because that was how dedicated they were to making the best possible plane?

So why strike on the 787? Look what the top executives and Boeing workers have caused. Bigger airliners can aford to hold out for the plane to be built, but many smaller airliners make start to cancel there orders also, and look into cheaper alternatives now to make revenue.

Smells fishy... dont forget the power of the domestic manufacturers here... they might be put under pressure to buy something russian instead (not talking SSJs here)

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here
