Honestly, we could come up with some sort of freeware prize, we would need some imagination,  maybe a trophy avatar that the winner gets to use in his signature/avatar for the month that he is the winner...

Since it's a payware competition, SimV could charge $5 per posted image.

How bad do you want it! Grin Wink

I like the ideas of the Trophy avatars, and even the toilet award! Cheesy Cool

Keep the votes coming guys! Gonna need more than 19 people to pull this off. Wink

Hm, I'm not all in for a 'toilet award'.

Even if it's meant as a joke, I can't imagine it being very funny, knowing that you've made the worst screenshot...

And I can't imagine it encouraging the member to participate again...

Just saying Undecided

You guys are cracking me up! But you've also convinced me (and I didn't even vote 'NO'). Heck ... I didn't even vote yet fixed Roll Eyes

I'll also support the idea of having a sort of a medal or other trophy and I'll even compete for the toiletbowl award Grin

Maybe we could have some sort of a medal systems that displays besides your avatar.

Interesting?

And the same goes for me as it goes for Andy: If you need a hand just let me know ...

You make a valid point, but I think I left out some details...it wouldn't be an insulting award, it would be something they would have to STRIVE for  Grin  Like a deliberate attempt to get it, not just pointing out a lousy shot and making it obvious to everyone that it stunk lol that is NOT how we operate here at the V

To be honest, we already have Screenshot of the Month (freeware, payware and edited), we don't really need another contest! Studio V used to be a place for learning to make better screenshots.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Studio V has come too far off track. JC, Edit This and Screenshot of the Month are absolutely fine.  Wink

A valid point about the Studio, but the problem is, no one really uses it for that much any more, most of the interest there seems to be centered around the contests, only 3-4 times in the last year was something posted about how to take/improve screen shots.
It is still certainly for this purpose, as some believe that competition itself helps to improve screen shots. And participation in these events proves their value to the members.

This contest is not going to be like the 3 best of comps with random shots. It is designed to be more like the main site competition with a specific theme, but for Payware so those with heavily modded sims full of payware addons can compete with their best stuff. Similar to the JC... Yes, but it has been said that the JC moves a little too fast for this, and with only one person judging, it is a matter of personal taste more than quality of work.(I know this from being a JC judge once.) The rules for this comp will almost mirror those of the main site comp. and be open to a member poll, may the best shot win kinda rules.

StudioV will always be about learning to improve/take screen shots, but someone has to contribute to that aspect of it also. The studio has always been a member driven area, so we need member participation to keep it going. Wink This new one is something that has been requested by members, and therefore would live or die by member participation & interest.

As has happened in the past, the interest in the different features of the studio shifts and changes, this is what keeps it alive and fresh, its ability to change and adapt. The tutorials at the top will always be there for those that need them, and the comps will always be there for those that enjoy them.

This is the kind of valued discussion needed. I really appreciate your opinion and view on this topic. Smiley
