Hello guys,
Finally finished intalling everything back to my new i7 940 system.
Wow, great performance !! I love this set up and recommend it to everyone.
One small question. I followed Nick's guide and I changed the virtual memory page file to 3072 as recommended but don't know if this is the right value to use since if I have 6 gigs of RAM. Is this related in anyway ?
Anyone has an idea on this ?
Just need to solve a small flickering effect or stutter when I turn and it will be perfect.
Looking forward to hear back from you guys.
your fine
with that much PM that page file will never be touched. its only there to act as a zone for programs to 'see' the space and allocate an area of it when they boot
The page file is NEVER used unless you run out of physical memory
all this worry and crap about system performance by moving, changing and sizing the page file is a bunch of hot air unless a system is running 2GB or less and stands a chance of hitting the top end of the memory available.. and even then the best stradegy with the page is to leave it on the Windows partition and make is a constant size
