Since I think Rob's forgotten that Monza is this weekend I'll get this one started.
The shortest, but fastest race on the calender. Should be interesting.
Results in please before saturday at 1pm uk time please. (giving an extra hour to make up for the fact this is late. Qualy starts at 1pm anyway.

Although all bets are off if it rains, or Ecclestone runs out on the track with a baseball bat going after Hamilton.  I could see that happening

There was always going to be a pair of Ferraris in the front two rows. Smiley All the talk of Honda being embarrassed by Aguri on their day - I bet few suspect Ferrari to be embarrassed by STR.

very good quali.
Nice to see the new rainmaster show his stuff. Tyre choice mistake or not, Lewis was not driving with any sort of confidence. Even when there was nothing to lose he wasn't trying. Me thinks, in changable conditions he's good, in wet conditions he's perhaps at his best, but in torrential conditions like today he's still got a lot to learn.
Race should be interesting. I think if it's dry, then Hekki is looking very good, and Lewis, Massa and Kimi should come through to challenge for the podium. If it's dry, then I think Lewis and Kimi are screwed. They are on a dry setup, Heikki is on a wet setup, and Massa looks to be on a compromise. Vettel, brilliant job.
Personally I'd love it to be dry. I think we'd see a much better race, watching Kimi and Lewis fight through the field. If it's wet we're likely to see a lot of off's and guys like Kimi and Lewis and Massa, being taken out at the first corner. Plus safety cars.

Nice to see a reverse grid!

It'd be good to see Vettel, Webber etc stay at the front but whatever the weather conditions I doubt that will happen... I still bet it'll be 3 from Ferrari and McLaren on the podium.

So what was Kimi up to then? I dont see how anyone today were not 'trying' . Lack of Confidence, yes, ill agree with that. I wasnt fully aware of what Hamilton was up to, i know he went out on inters, which really wasnt a good idea right at that moment, but i missed when he went to full wets? Was he in the pits for some time? I think i was opening a box of cadburys chocolate fingers at that moment and lost track Undecided

He obviously missed running on the track when it was at its 'best' during Q2 for the full wet tyres because he was on the wrong ones, and then his spin didnt help. Kimi certainly had a 'moment' on the same corner, he was lucky to hold on to that!

Lewis did his first warm up lap on inters and came straight in and went back out on wets. He lost out on one full lap. The biggest problem he faced was how quickly his tyres were wearing out. Even after a couple of laps not pushing extremelly hard his front left was wearing out. You could see Kimi was suffering from no heat in his tyres, every time he went through a corner, it looked like the tyre was shaking so badly it was about to fly off.
If it rains tomorrow a lot of drivers are going to be in trouble as there are simply no more sets of Wet tyres available, thats why we saw one run quali sessions.

Fantastic race, truly deserved by Vetel. Seems a shame he's going to Red Bull next year, almost like a step down Undecided.

Great to see no Lewis, Massa or Kimi on the podium for a change Tongue.

how reminicent of the 2006 podium was that? Kubica being the only common part to that though LOL. But sort of like a new era has dawned. Now to get Vettel into a Ferrari. Bye bye Kimi I say. Lips Sealed

Great race and a very deserved win. Hamilton had a good come back under the circumstances. Not sure what Kimi was up to and I think Massa should have been a couple of places further up the finish order, after all he did play his joker and have a new engine to race with, qualifying on his old one. Still a reverse grid was very entertaining....................maybe we should have this every other race Grin

call him a $30 million gift to STR.

Massa was already on his new engine, but the problem cropped up in quali that wasn't worth risking on an engine heavy track.

Excellent race! Not to detract from Vettel who drove faultlessly - really impressive - i did think at one point that the win was hamiltons. No rain came though, but stll probably the best perfomance other than vettel. Some great overtaking.

Not sure what was going on in the red cars though, Kimi yet again didnt seem interested or to be 'trying' then suddenly starts going quick at the end. Not good enough! Massa - i expected a little improvement on his grid slot. Shows who the real 'new rain masters' are though i guess Grin

From 15th on the grid i bet hamiltons pretty pleaed to come away with a 1 point lead, although really he should have done better in qualifying.

Did i hear the cock james allen say 60 percent chance of rain at the singapore night race? Cant wait for that Shocked

Vettel may well be something special - a fine drive in any case, and 20 years after his bosses win (the only non-McLaren win of the season) in 1988.

Good bit of damage limitation by McLaren too.

Driving the ring road at home in the rain under street lights at 40 mph is hard enough with all the reflections, now do it at 200 mph Shocked

BAAAAAH!  The German and Italian anthems on the podiums!  FLASHBACKS!  Who would have guessed before quali that Vettle would have schooled the entire field?

Hamilton drove a great race.  I was in Kansas City all day at the NFL game in blustery 50degree F temps and the only time I shivered all day was during the race at home that night!  Also Kubica passes Kimi for 3rd in the championship.

JUST IN:  FIA penalizes Hamilton for existing, Massa promoted to position -1, ahead of Vettel.

Forgot about the joker engine, what if that rule was not in place?  How crazy would that have been
