For anybody that cares, MotoGP will be at Indy this weekend. There's already a lot of hubaloo happening, mostly because this will mark the return of motorcycles racing on the Indy Speedway in about 100 years.
  I'm stoked! Cool

My point exactly.  Wink

I don't think the FIA really cares about that - lets just get some more points offloaded to Ferrari.  Cool

Im not really a fan of motorbikes in general, so i dont really know a lot of what goes on, catch a bit on the telly, although i think bikes need to be seen live to really appreciate whats going on....watched quite a lot at cadwell over the years..but what track at indy are they using? The oval???? Or the F1 track thing?

On a side note, the company i work for also has a british superbike team, their workshops are literaly in the office so to speak, they appeared to be loading the transporter thing with bikes and so on. Is there some british superbikes this weekend also?

They're using both the part of the Speedway track and F-1 track. Here's the layout:...

As you can see they are running anti-clockwise and the bikes should be able to easily top 200mph on the front straight.
To prevent anyone trying to run clockwise, the Speedway has installed these signs around the track:... Grin
As far as I know the only bikes running at Indy are Red Bull Riders Cup, Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup, 125cc, MotoGP, and 250cc.

It's not the F1 track. It's been change to suit the bikes. Turn 1 of the oval was the final turn of the F1 track, that is no more. Also turns 7 and 8 are differant and no longer hairpins.
