Gmax and FSX (Read 491 times)

can I use gmax for FSX, because it came packaged with it but all i have heard is fs 2002 so far, and i am not sure help  Smiley

Of course you can.

FIrst, install the SDK and gmax from the FS-X discs.  (Note that your NEED to install the "original" SDK from the disc, otherwise the later SDK updates will not install.

Download the SDK update from fsinsider.com so that you get the gmax gamepack.

You will COPY (or move) the FSX_GmaxGamePack from the SDK to your gmax\gamepacks folder.  If you've correctly installed gmax to the default location, you'l now have a folder with all the goodies:

c:\gmax\gamepacks\FSX_GmaxGamePack

A word of caution Install the SDK to the default location - don't get fancy moving it to a convenient "FSX_Stuff folder someplace else.

Now learn gmax and go forth and model.

Where do I get this Gamepack from SDK. I can't find it. And i can't install the new SDK. It tells me it is not a valid windows 32 application.
(i have windows xp) help me

THe SDK is in the FS-X Disc 1, as a separate folder and within it, the executable.
