Hello all, long time and no posts! Tongue However, I am proud to announce a new virtual airline that will be introduced in early 2008 if all goes to plan. This was released some time ago on another flight simulation forum, but I thought some of you guys here would like to hear of the opportunities we have at Highland. We look forward to seeing you in the skies!

Highland Airways
September 6, 2007 |Tokyo, Japan
Major Press Release:
Highland Airways has announced that it will shift its gears and focus on Asia as its base market, offering the flight simulation community an opportunity to tap into a market that has not seen its fair share of development.

Bradley McCoy, the CEO of Highland Airways, told the press that “Highland Airways’ move to Asia has taken some time and effort, but this was all done for the passengers and airmen…. For our passengers, we will be utilizing Tokyo Haneda International for domestic routes to fabulous cities such as Sapporo and Osaka, and for international travel, we will use Tokyo Narita International Airport, which will be the gateway to cities such as Hong Kong, Jakarta, and Manila.”

McCoy also gave reporters a hint on the fleet, saying that “Highland Airways will use a modern fleet of the Airbus A320 series, Bombardier Dash-8 Q400, and a Boeing 747-400Domestic on lease,” but with more details to come soon.

Welcome
Welcome to the first press release of the new Highland Airways, now serving Eastern Asia, and helping you “Discover Your Gateway”. The staff of Highland has made an important strategic decision. With the fast growing, competitive United States market, Highland has determined that it will have a competitive advantage in serving our passengers and our airmen in the underserved eastern Asia region. While this is a major shift in operations for Highland, we are dedicated to making this a successful endeavor for all involved. Unlike many other nascent virtual airlines, we do not expect to change our direction again. By unlocking your gateways to Asia, as our passenger or as one of our pilots, we are hoping you will choose Highland Airways. So, sit back, discover, enjoy your flight, and welcome aboard.

New Fleet
In an attempt to better serve popular Asian routes, Highland has updated its fleet using modern Airbus, Boeing, and Bombardier aircraft. Highland will utilize the Airbus A320 series of aircraft to serve international as well as domestic destinations. The Dash 8-400 will serve as a smaller commuter aircraft with daily service to destinations such as Akita and Naha. For high capacity domestic routes, Highland has selected a leased 747-400D for operations to Nagoya and Osaka.

Destinations
Highland Airways has many popular destinations selected for its route network, serving many of the main cities in Eastern Asia. Domestic flights will operate out of the Tokyo Haneda International Airport, which offers expedited departures, conveniently located close to downtown Tokyo. International departures, however, will use the larger, and more advanced Narita International Airport, which offers passengers with large facilities essential to making your long voyages with Highland more enjoyable. With service to 8 destinations across East Asia, Highland is your gateway to the Far East. Below is a route map highlighting all of Highland’s flights from both Haneda and Narita International Airports in Tokyo.
