i think for the mose part from what i have read most agree including myself that there is no clear winner. except fore a few hard core fs9 and fsx lovers. i myself agree that right now fsx is an exalent sim for low and slow i have enjoyed many hours in hawaii and many places just flying around. even though my pc is hardly capable of such a game. but on the other hand i love commershal flying. and thats where fs9 comes in. upgrades to if you like to download and customize fs9 is for you so
-low and slow fsx
-fast fs9
-crazy upgrades fs9
-eazy-er on your comp fs9
but given time fsx will slowly acheve the things we love so much in fs9. Like a huge feware base and hardwear will catch up to the game as well.
but right now its not fare to say that anyone is defanitly better thet the other right now for many reasons.
big or small i like them all ...? that dosent sound right&&slew mode dose not count as flying&&737-700aholic

Sorry but I couldn't resist it.
Spell checkers can be very useful but cannot find correctly spelled words used in the wrong context.
Try as I might I've never been able to convince Foz that the word meaning to mislay something (as in one's marbles) or fail to win is spelled
lose
(pronounced Lou's) & not loose (pronounced as in goose or moose.) This is one of the most common errors on the Internet.

Hi Hugo..
How far into the future are we looking?
In another twenty (20) some years I will be a century old and probably sitting on a porch in a rocking chair mumbling "yes sonny...used to do that...got the ball cap to prove it"
LMAO.
Come to think of it...the old girl says I do that now.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
Not too long into the Future. I think that maybe next year people will start leaving FS2004 behind for good and then developers will start working more with FSX. The only problem now is that most people can't run FSX decently so there's no point in developers creating add ons for FSX just yet. It was the same when FS2004 came out... I remember I couldn't find any add ons for it because everyone was still using FS2002.
But even without the add-ons, I think FSX is way better than FS2004 (a much larger leap than from FS2002 to FS2004)... but that comes at a price: it'll take longer for people to get the propper harware to run it.

Great shots Dave...
Have a computer chap coming tomorrow to tweek this machine, I shall show him what you told me to do and have him do it.
He is also going to check drivers and updates as I am having a problem installing a critical update for some reason, but it seems it is an update a lot of folks are having a problem with.
He will install the Beaver for me and whatever else I can find on amphibious floats for Microsoft Simulator X.
The utilities section of simviation downloads for FSX I would also like him to install from page 4 the trees, airport lighting and taxiway addons.
I do not think my Ultimate Terrain for Canada & Alaska will work for Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition so that might be a waste of time having him trying to install that.
If you get a chance Dave can you check out Eugene Heyart's homepage "Stratojet Home" and look at the update for the Otters he produced.
I am not exactly sure what new program he speaks about for Microsoft Flight Simulator X is.
If you can think of anything else I should add or do please let me know.
Will keep you advised on how it looks, thanks for all the help.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Doug,
In reference to the Otters: E.H. is speaking of design programs that would allow him to remake the Otter into a 'true' FSX aircraft .
I've downloaded both Otters, the 'dch3pzl.zip' (original amphibian) and 'Otter_PZL.zip' (updated amphibian and wheeled). They both work in FSX and look great also, with a couple of exceptions noted below.
FSX-dhc3pzl amphibian out of 4S2-Hood River
Notes: The dhz3pzl is the best flyer of the 2. The Otter_PZL seem very sluggish in repsonse to the control surfaces (I found this to be true in both FS9 and FSX, more so in FSX). The rudder seems to cause a reverse control effect. Maybe some tweaks to the aircraft.cfg can fix that.
The starter switch does not work properly and requires the use of autostart to fire up.
If you want to try the Otter in FSX:
*Start fresh by unzipping one of the downloads (I'd suggest the dhc3pzl.zip as it handles better).
*In the unzipped folder move or copy all of the gauge files from the gauge folder to the ac's panel folder. (if you later want to remove the ac from FSX you don't have to hunt down the gauges) You'll also need the 'Cessna208.gau' file from FS2004. If you don't have FS2004 installed get it from FS2004's CD#2\MSGAME3.cab.
*Move or copy the aircraft to ...\<FSX>\SimObjects\Airplanes\
The first time you load the aircraft you'll get 2 messages about each of the gauges. Click 'Run' on the first message and 'Yes' or 'No' on the second message depending on your preference.
