OK I have done pleanty of modeling with Auto CAD but 3D Max is a bit differnt for me. My main thing right now is how do you import an existing MDL file into 3D Max. I have searched for a decompliler but am unable to find one. Any suggestions would would be great. Any tip as well would be nice as well.
Beofre you ask I do have the updated SDK and have the SDK Plugin-Up and running. In the MS SDK Manual it tells you how to import the XML and then export to an MDL but not how to decompile.
Thanks and I how to get plenty of feed back.

You can't change a .mdl file. Once an MDL file, always an mdl file. You have to get the source file, be it a .fsc, .x, or anything of the sort. This is to prevent stealing without permission.

Opening a mdl file in either Gmax or 3D Studio Mx is a very tempting idea. But the last time I recall, hell has not yet frozen over.
