A great advantage to being in the military and either flying in uniform, and or flying on a military charter flight is that I can visit the flightdeck when I wouldn't have been able as a civilian. A couple months ago when I was flying to Kuwait in a 747, I spent over half an hour in the flight deck while over eastern Europe talking to the pilots. Too bad I forgot to get pictures of that
