KDSM, would you mind posting your airplane status so super_game can compare them with his. (Like engine, brake, and light status. just pretty much what your controls look like at the moment) This may help identify the problem.

I took a screenshot so you can see that they don't even work with AI aircrafts. The World Travel Airlines is my aircraft and the Orbit Airlines is AI. As you can see, both of them have no jetways attached to the door even after pressing Ctrl+J.  Embarrassed

Engines off, lights off, parking brake set, cargo doors closed. but I did notice that it takes a long time for it to actually move. when I landed at the destination it took about 2-3 minutes for it  to move.

super you have the parking brakes set? dont see the notification in your screenie or do you have that disabled?

You have to tell the sim where the doors are located... Wink

In the "Exits" section of the AI's aircraft, add the entries that define the door's location:

Code:
[exits]
number_of_exits = 3
exit.0 = 0.4, -16.90, -4.5,  3.9, 0 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)

exit.1 = 0.4, -74.00, -4.5,  0.5, 2 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)

exit.2 = 0.4, -16.50,  4.5,  0.5, 2 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)

The above is taken from the Bombardier_CRJ_700's aircraft.cfg file.  Of course, you will need to experiment around to determine the actual "physical location" of the doors on your AI aircraft.  They are unlikely to be the same as the CRJ's door! Wink

I set the parking breaks on, but when I was taking that shot, I quickly turned it off so the text doesn't come in the shot, but originally it was set. I also did the exact same when I arrived at my destination: engines off, lights off, cargo and main doors open, parking break set, and battery and generators off.

And n4gix, aren't they all already typed in the default aircraft.cfg file? Because I checked every aircraft's .cfg files and they all had exits assigned.

ok ok ok. i think i have finally figured out why the jetways dont move for some of us.
I was cruising through other FS forums when i saw a thread just like this. i read through it and figured it out.
Im sure those of you running FSX without being able to move the jetways have an older video card such as a Nvidia MX or FX series or something like it; or a comprable ATI card. Well, if i am right, then you must understand, yes your card is out dated and somethings it wont support or support correctly. The thing that these cards do not support is Model Shader 2.0.
Apperently the animation feature that runs the jetway is a Model Shader 2.0 or above code. meaning to us unfortunate  not to have to have it = really boring jetways. So those of you that spent so much effort trying to line up your aircraft perfectly with the taxi line, or press crtl+j so many times.....that was never the problem. So, either live with it temporarly and upgrade later, or get a new video card now if you feel the need to do it. Hope this makes sense. AS for myself, my little old Ti4200 card is completely overwhelmed by FSX. But it does a good job trying keeping up. I congradulate it for not melting down on my yet.  Wink

I figured this would be as good a place to make my first post (been trying to register here for the better part of 3 months  Embarrassed)  as was said...you type Control-J to get them to move...though I cant be sure (havnt tested) but the type of AC you have has an effect (dont figure a jetway is going to attach to a Learjet) ....

here is an image of both my AC as well as AI's with the jetway attached..
...

now that being a defult AC it may be in the AC's .confg for the right placement...and not in downloaded customs that are not FSX based.

mine always work.  even when i mess with one, slew my aircraft to another one, and then try that one out.

i see from a quick glance above that someone's ID'ed the problem, though.

we have this same problem at work... call ramp control and bug them about it 2 or 3 times... when they get sick of your whining someone will finally come running out to get things rolling.  Grin
