Just because I'm a curious punk
Which do you prefer?
The download means you get it right away, and don't have to worry about shipping costs, but can cause problems of losing the file and not being able to redownload it.
The Packaged CD means you'll always have it right there, and won't have to worry about the extra space of the installer on your hard drive, but if the disk is damaged, or you lose it, your pretty much stuck. Plus it has the bonus of usually containing a manual of some sort in physical form instead of PDF format, or some other.
So, Which is it? In all honesty I'd have to say downloaded versions my self. Shipping costs can be pricey (Over $70 to ship my latest purchase of FS Falcon for overnight shipping, and No, I didn't get it overnight
) and if needed, I can always back it up on a CD myself for personal use.
If this has been asked before, I'm sorry as I had no idea

I'm happy with either method.
It all depends on the product.
For example; I'll happily download a UK2000 scenery, but prefer getting a Just Flight release pre-packaged.
I currently have their Spitfire, Tornado, Flying Club, Caravan, Dash 8-300 Pro and F-117A Stealth Fighter...and I like seeing the boxes all lined up in my DVD rack
So yeah, I'm swinging both ways on this one
Cheers,
Carl

i bought it for a fiver in my local games shop!
Always boxed....nothing like opening a new "game" and reading a paper manual.
To be fair I've never downloaded any payware from the internet.

I prefer the box...
...the reinstall is much easier and hassel free...
...now with all the piracy protection stuff on alot of the new payware, it's getting very very annoying...

Personally, I much prefer downloading. I don't like shipping costs, and I don't like waiting. As for reinstalling, I just save the installer on a CD-R for safekeeping.
Granted, I only have one payware, and no intention of buying more, but if I were to make more purchases, I'd prefer they were downloaded.

Definately download, who wants to wait a week or more for shipping when a new aircraft is released...or for instance the Dreamfleet Baron 58, which as far as I know still isnt availible on CD-ROM.

Well, I get my boxed stuff at this one store...
...so there really isn't any wait (besides the drive there and back, which kind of total 80 miles...)...

Same as Jeff, my local game store is only a 20min walk from here.
Plus they normally do deals like '3 for 2' or by anything instore and get certain titles for 1/2 price, usually a few FS add-ons in the list for half price.
Cheers,
Carl...about to head into town

I prefer the packaged cd. Theres no hassles in regards to online piracy checks and stuff like that. The only downside is the shipping time.
Though the only cd addon I have is the LevelD 767. Everything else was downloaded for convienience.
Cheers,

Download, it costs less and is faster. Also I can get a pack of CD's for $5 so I don't so the point of buying it at the shops.
