Possible New Use for Towline (Read 869 times)

Now that we've got a towline function do you think it will be possible to fake being carried by B-52 in an X-15, or Buran in an An-225 (etc.)? Imagine the towline point being placed on the "X-15 carrying" pylon on the B-52 so that VISUALLY it looks like you are being carried by the B-52.  Shocked

Yep, I suggested already that tweak some time ago in another topic. That would be just cool, but you may have to consider how the X15 will behave when attached to the B52...
I mean, theres one one rope, it will not prevent the X-15 to move around its axis, see the problem ? :/
But it may be cool to try...someone will try for sure  8)

Damn someone always gets there first... Like when I think of new products to help my family out of a(personal) spot of trouble. (I haven't even left primary school yet...1/2 a year to go  Grin)

The moment I heard about tow lines, I immediately thought of mid-air refueling. Grin  Though it brought up the problem of having a 'stiff' refueling probe for certain aircraft like F-22s. Tongue  Refueling for an A-6 would be fine Grin, but does FSX give a choice of stiff or loose rope - i don't think so. Tongue

That still might not rule out a 'drogue and probe' type refueling Smiley

Course not, but it will rule out doing that stuff easily.
