Like X_Jasper said, e-mail the main website to see if it is. If it's not the real deal, then we can just simply forget about this video and move it to the "humor" section instead. Grin

EDIT:

I kept looking all over the net to see if the original website [project magenta or others] have the video posted. None of them do. It's very strange that this link has PM's web address listed but isn't showing up when veiwing from their main site. Strike me as odd. Me thinks it's a hoax. If it is, then it's a dang good hoax.

However, I am noticing some visual effects that indicate that is is FSX. Indications are:

1. Bump mapping [notice the tarmac and runway]
2. Self-shadow effects [notice the airport terminals early in the video]
3. A little bit of sun shining on the nose of the 737 [during the close-up shot]

So maybe it is. But don't forget that most of the "stunning" visual effects are optimized for DX10 and Vista [which won't exist until next year]. So don't expect to get the whole cake when FSX comes out.

This is 100% FSX, Katahu is very right; if you look hard enough you will see the eye candy that was implemented by MS for this new release. Look at the R22 and see the reflections on the glass, the airport has moving trucks, the scenery on approach with the  737 shows the new autogen trees and even roads on the right! This is FSX but obviously the settings are set to low, whether that makes that much of a difference then that’s a different thing! I still think that we can't judge this until we get it!

Sorry forgot to mention a couple of other things!

For those that did not notice, seems like the idea behind this clip is to promote the ability to choose to be a pilot, co-pilot and ATC while flying on MP. Oh and by the way the 737, World Travel Airlines MS default aircraft!

You guys are funny , nitpicking everything!  Grin

It was obviously made in fun to promote the interacting of everybody through the sim. Who cares if a mountain was not rendered, blah blah blah...

My most favorite part was when the guy who was flying the 737 was playing online at a local restaraunt. So funny. It makes me wonder who is dedicated enough to enjoy FS in the middle of dinner. Grin

ATC : World Travel 731, what's your position?
Roll Eyes Roll Eyes (lol so we have to assume this big baby's coming from nowhere....)
(so-called)Pilot : Heading 250, 200kts...
Roll Eyes Roll Eyes (wow dude, now we know exactly where you are Cheesy)

Yeah I think it realy shows the "fun" aspect of the game, but this guy could at least keep his hand on the throttle and stop moving his stick aimlessly in every direction Grin.

Cheers

Upon further review I have come to my senses and realized this is infact FSX and it does show off some of the cool features.  For instance, you can see moving ground traffic, AI in MP, the Controller mode availiable in the deluxe edition, and the shared cockpit for MP.

I agree with Mic, they definately should use the ending in a commercial "this is more fun"

Definatly fsX.

Heres why:
Reflections on 737
Airport traffic
Runway textures are identical to other videos
Ground looks diferant (yeah, I can tell the diferance)
Smooth multiplayer not possible in fs9.
R22 3d model looks diferant
Yet to see a 737 VC look like that
