I think this is a very good sign that FSX will be backwards compatable...I dont know If I really believe it though,

...

Seems kinda early to me to promise that...

If you want to see this in person its on the top of the avsim homepage.

Many payware companies have received beta copies to see if their addons will work in FSX and to develop FSX compatible addons.

FSX will be compatible with most newer models, Microsoft made that mistake with CFS3, they arent going to make it again

I was thinking maybe a new way of advertisement, but not too totally sure. Most FS9 models should be compatible with FSX though. 8) Grin

I don't even think FSX has gone into Alpha yet, let alone Beta.

I thought it was already officially stated the FSX will be backwards compatible? ???

I don't know where it was, so I can't give you a link, but I'm pretty sure they said that.

It's been said at the FS Insider website. Check this one out.

It must be true. In an American court of law, probably most other Western countries, there are laws against false advertising. If someone were to buy one of their add-ons, with the intent of using it in FSX, and it did not work. FSD would be obligated to refund the entire purchase price, while being in no positon to protest. If they did not, and at least one of the parties was an American national, American law will apply, and there would likely be a class-action lawsuit, which would not be helpful for FSD's image.

I think that addons designed for FS9 will, with few exceptions, work in FSX, however, do not expect FS8 addons to work properly, if at all.

It is indeed true that FSX betas have gone out to fs addon publishers, so don't worry about that.

The report that has been recently released by AvSim clearly mentioned that some of the aircraft will be from 3rd party vendors. It's not known who it is yet but we can be sure this time that at least some of the default aircraft in the deluxe version will be of good quality this time.
