ill be there sunday morning. gates open early, ill prolly get there about...eh..8:30, 9 am. its typically a good show. lots of different activities. theres even a small group that flies R/C planes, including....a...STOP SIGN!!
more than likely, youll see me hanging out near the L-39, or near some static display navy planes (maybe by the C-9 or fighters), or up by the orange fence watching the show. ill be wearing a gray shirt that says NAVY on the front, and a green and brown camo boonie hat with several assorted pins on it. will probably even be carrying a 1-liter bottle of mountain dew, if theyre allowed in.
yeah, ive worked the show, and ive been to the show before. im just really disappointed that the F-14 isnt doing a demo flight, and that the thunderthuds are performing, and not the blue angels. the angels do a much better show.
when i worked the show a couple years ago, the thunderchickens made it a basewide rule that from the time the group took off, until their last plane landed,
NO ONE is allowed off base. no cars were allowed out of their parking lots. they actually physically shut the gates. one woman went into labor during the show, and they almost refused to let HER out. there were a lot of other serious problems that day, but this isnt the topic for it.
if you decide to go, leave before the thunderthuds take off, or youre stuck there. trust me on this...im sure theyll do it again this year.
yes, the museum is pretty cool. H-2, H-53, the 262, and even a rarity; the SEA DART! its a shame its ski design was flawed...could have been a lot of potential with the plane, i think.
